Bio

Offland Om was formed in the summer of 2012 by Kevin Bole and Andrew McPheters. Both life long musicians, it was in late August that they found themselves in the position to pursue a shared goal and create their own style of folk music. With a strong appreciation for songwriting and originality, Offland Om strives to bring something fresh to your ears and eyes and loves to put on a show full of foot stompin', fast pickin', and an all around good time. Kevin Bole and Andrew McPheters have different approaches in style and theory that mix perfectly and created the sound now known as Offland Om. Along with the two founding members the brand new addition of Brian Pumphrey as a percussionist has helped add a new dynamic to the band's sound. Pumphrey can be seen using a variety of objects to help drive the rhythm of the band. Thanks to the help of a thriving folk music scene in Cincinnati, Ohio and supportive bands, fans, and venues alike, Offland Om has been able to begin building a following and continue on their mission to "spread the om" to anyone willing to lend their ears. Kevin Bole, a graduate of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and currently an engineer at Monastery Studio located in Cincinnati, Ohio, has already had the opportunity to work with many professional musicians including Zak Morgan (2004 GRAMMY Nominee and Winner of the 2003 Children's Music Web Award) and world renowned bassist, Byron House. Along with this exposure, in the short time Offland Om has been together they have played with bands such as The Comet Bluegrass All-Stars, Young Heirlooms, Arlo Mckinley and the Lonesome Sound, Rumpke Mountain Boys, The Tillers, and New Old Cavalry to name a few. Without some of these artist's help Offland Om would have never gotten off to the fast pace they have set for themselves! Offland Om has played at venues such as MOTR Pub, Southgate House, Thompson House, and Northside Tavern all located near Cincinnati, Ohio but has spread their music outside of their hometown to Athens, Ohio as well. Offland Om is currently working in the studio to finish their LP debut Album which they plan to finish sometime in the summer of 2013. Some of Offland Om's influences would include Cahalen Morrison and Eli West, John Prine, The Tillers, Sam Bush, Bill Monroe, and Ralph Stanley.
