Hailing from Hartford, Connecticut and being the first band signed to Roadside Attraction Records, this 4-piece rock band packs quite a punch. Their debut EP 'Reversal of Fortune' features four amazing tracks that truly showcase the bands talents and different styles. Being heavily influenced from such bands as Finch and Deftones, Offshoot's debut release is packed full of energy and is sure to get them the attention they deserve.
The EP starts off in full force with the powerful track 'Reflections'. This track has hard driving guitars accompanied by harmonic vocals and a strong percussion. The next track 'If You Will' is a slower rock song. This song proves the band has real talent. There are a lot of bands out there that can't do slower songs, it just doesn't sound right. But Offshoot doing slower rock, sounds just amazing. 'If You Will' is by far my favourite track on the EP for its sound and lyrical meaning. The third track 'Savior' is another powerful track. The vocals sound slightly altered giving them a robotic effect. The overall feeling of this track is a lot like sticking Hard Rock and Punk Rock in a blender and hitting 'frappe'. The final track on the EP is the hardest hitting most powerful track on the album. With an distinct metal sound Offshoot gives it their all on this track. "Pieces of You' does a good job of varying tempo throughout the song to give more meaning to the chorus.

If I had to recommend a radio single it would have to be 'If You Will', though all of the songs on the EP are radio worthy. Offshoot's sound is right up my alley and I commend the guys on an excellent effort, well done! I absolutely loved reviewing this EP. Special thanks go out to Andrew and Roadside Attraction Records (find their link on our link page).

Bio

They say going through tough times together is what brings people together and makes them best of friends. If that’s the case Offshoot can relate. It was soon after they came together in February of 2002 that their roller coaster ride started. The band went through two guitar players, two bass player and things got worse when their manager and producer decide to leave as well. Things would soon start to look up for the band though, as things would start to fall into place.

The bands debut EP “Reversal of Fortune” is backed by their record label Roadside Attraction Records. The album is filled with mind blowing, emotional lyrics alongside eardrum shaking vocals, as well as unthinkable finger flying guitar riffs that will blow you away. When you listen to the EP, it’s apparent that bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Finch have influenced Offshoot as they push themselves into the music scene.

Today Offshoot is continues to take New England and the Northeast by storm. They have played such venues as the main stage of the Webster Theater in Hartford, Connecticut to the birthplace of punk rock at CBGB’s in New York City. They have hit the stage as far north as Burlington, Vermont to as far south as Miami, Florida. They have played with Chevelle, Three Days Grace, Crossfade, Authority Zero, Throne and several bands from Drive-Thru Records.

Fans of all ages have enjoyed seeing Offshoot play night after night. Even though the band has been through several different members thing remains the same; every show is filled with fans wanting more
