LOS ANGELES, CA- OG Status (OG Scoop and Mike Lang) is a new hip hop duo out of Dallas and they dropped a chill summer banger featuring the southern rap legend Bun B.
The video, produced by Jeff Adair Films, was shot on location in Costa Rica and has the trio chilling on a mutha-f’in boat, which is absolutely fitting considering that the track opens up with Scoop singing hook, “I’m on a yacht out in Costa Rica”.
The beat, produced by Alexay Beats out of France, is hypnotic with its silky, modulated horns that rides an equally hypnotic beat that snaps with the punchy hi-hat rhythms.
This trio is all smiles and good vibes as Scoop sings, “I’m on a yacht, turned up in Costa Rica, living my best life baby , pura vida”. You can’t help but feel the same vibe throughout the song.

OG STATUS is a newly formed duo out of Dallas, Tx. consisting of artists OG Scoop and Mr. Lang. Both Scoop and Lang grew up as all-star caliber athletes who eventually reached the collegiate ranks in there respective sports. Music was always a part of their lives, but took a back seat to their athletic aspirations. Following the end of their athletic careers both found success in the boardrooms of Corporate America, and music once again was pushed to the back burner. It wasn't until the two met through mutual friends in 2013 that their musical aspirations began to resurface. After many impromptu house party performances over the next few years, the two decided in early 2018 to formally chase their dream of breaking in to the music industry. Their debut single released in June 2018 featured hip hop legend Bun B, and was highlighted by a music video shot on site in Costa Rica by well known Texas director Jeff Adair. Moving forward the duo intends to release a mixtape of original songs in the fall of 2018, along with 2 solo projects from their solo artist Slim Dawg. Ultimately the group is committed to creating quality productions that can be enjoyed across multiple platforms.
