Brian Parc thought Portland could use a swift kick in the ass, so he found three stout-hearted lads that agreed and began to rock house parties.
Now:
Drunken slackers sense a long-forgotten spirit emerge from their tapping feet which spreads to their bobbing heads and shaking booties, as Brian's unearthly warbling and fists-of-fury chord chunking command the room. Bland musical evaluations seem suddenly irrelevant. Rock? Obviously. Pop? Quite possibly. Indie? Who cares. Oh! Captain has arrived and their balls will stop short of no wall. The time has come for music made of all heart and no inhibitions, for grooves that hipsters have been too hip to play, for a crashing energy-wave fueled by passion instead of cool detachment. Bring the David Bowie, bring the David Byrne, bring the Howlin' Wolf and anyone else who understands the beauty of soulful stompin'. If men are sitting down, if women are standing still, if bodies are not covered in sweat, if whiskey bottles are left full then Oh! Captain has failed. And honestly, I don't think anyone wants to imagine that world.
