Lyrics

Silence

Written By: Sean Smith

The welcome smell of sassafras
Pickle-prickled on my nose like freshly cut grass
I see you both dance, and hear the music play
As I stumble in the dimly lit party time cafe
This is the portrait of what you want
Ambivalence to what is wrong and what is up
A snapshot of your new found love
Serendipity of life, ay there's the rub

But in this silence, I still find
A simple, better place of mind
I never want to let you go
But that is something you cant know

This snotling child, rapscallion
kickboxing brain, the floppy cretin's fatal lack of "gray"
Somehow pulls through, it works for you
Well in the end you are the ones I will be praying to.
Synchronicity, Well it seems to be
Making just a little more sense to me lately
Redundant words keep falling on my knees
Trigonometric pickup lines lost in the breeze

But in this silence, I still find
A simple, better place of mind
I never want to let you go
But that is something you cant know

I'd find it hard to break your heart
Like switzerland I never shoot or even raise my arms
I use this "charm" as my alarm
To let me know that this time I have maybe gone too far
You babel on, discombobulation
Pointless words like antidisestablishmentarianism
A cloudburst of your new found love
The verbatim of life, once again, ay there's the rub

But in this silence, I still find
A simple, better place of mind
I never want to let you go
But that is something you cant know

We'll live our lives like quaker lies
Interrobangs at the end just to emphasize
The bedazzler's eyes, when you wive
Will show the secrets that he never spoke of when you cried
And all the robust rules
Will rust in the wind
And you will be left with a broken heart and "just a friend"
Because you never knew, you'd never guess
The one you loved the most, doesn't love you the best
