Bio

Ric discovered his passion for singing at the tender age of ten, singing Gospel songs. The music bug bit him hard. He joined his first rock band at the age of 15. This adventure led him to other genres such as Soul, Blues, Metal and Alternative. A guy who loves to sing as much as Ric has to go beyond his “favorite” (Rock). During his journey, he had the pleasure of singing with Jimmy Van Zandt at Doc & Eddy’s in Columbia, which has been the highlight of his musical career. He has also been on stage with Ricochet and opened for Hurricane.

His previous bands are Faceless Society; SunStone; Axis; Two Gun Justice; Cradle & Grave. He can be heard now, belting out the Blues with OHM’s Law! His biggest musical inspirations have come from Jim Morrison and Otis Redding.

When it comes to choosing favorite artist, The Doors, Metalica and of course, Otis. Ric is originally from Columbia, MO but moved to “The Lou” in 2003.
Jim (Satch) Lowery started playing guitar as a wee lad. Very seldom will you catch this guy without a guitar in hand. He lives to play and plays to live. He was born and raised in the St. Louis area.

Previous bands he has belonged to are Mad Hatter, Missouri Breaker, The Blast, London Calling and Tropix.

Jim has been the opening act for bands such as Missouri, The Outlaws, The Bangles, Foghat, Iron Butterfly, Black Oak Arkansas, Grinder Switch, Rare Earth and most recently the Kentucky Headhunters. This guy gets around and knows how to pleasure a guitar. Of course his favorite kind of music to play is the blues.

He gets his inspiration from Rory Gallagher, Johnny Winter, SRV, Gary Moore, Frank Marino and Robin Trower.

A favorite memory of his musical career has to be his first gig paying a whole $20.00.

Jim has an extensive equipment list consisting of his prize possession Rory Gallagher Strat, along with a 57 RI Strat, Jimmie Vaughn Strat, Heritage Les Paul and Fender Deluxe amp, Fender Blues Jr, Krank Chadwick, 50 Watt Head, Bag End 2x12 cabinet, Ibanez Tube Screamer, Budda Wah & Monster Cables.

Dave Burton-Bass and Vocals Dave began his music training in formal and classical music. He soon grew restless and picked up the guitar. It was a few years before his passion for the bass was discovered and has been in his hands ever since. Dave is originally from Evansville, Indiana and moved to St. Louis 4 years ago.

His previous bands were Dogstar (3 years), Crystal Sounds (15 years) Blues Tones (1 year) as well as toured through Nashville and the deep south with Indie acts such as Bobby Cage and Sue Kennedy. After moving to St. Louis, Dave bumped around in a couple of bar bands but always seemed drawn back to the blues. He has opened for name acts such as Crystal Gale, Barb Mandrel, Rickie Scaggs, Ronnie Montrose, Emerson Drive, Gary Nichols and Kentucky Headhunters.

Dave has many influences including: the Stones, Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Delbert McLinton, Humble Pie, Joe Cocker, Pink Floyd, The Who, Hank Williams Sr. and Norah Jones.

His favorite memories are too private to share here.

Dave's equipment list includes, Ampeg SVT 3, 8-10e and PR 4-10 HLF. He also uses a vintage Acoustic 370 bass head as well as various other custom-made cabinets. His main weapon of mass destruction is a G&L 1500 bass with a Fender Precision lyte bass for backup.

Ken Hasty-Percussion

Originally from Brentwood, MO. Ken's influences range from Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Jethro Tull to Jazz Fusion-type music. He has been playing professionally since the tender age of 14. He hails from groups such as...Utah, Plague and Project 7. Ken's favorite type of music is progressive rock and jazz which lends a new and unique style to Ohm's Law. He tells his story to the crowd using Pearl drums and Paiste 2000 cymbals. His favorite of those is his snare which he lovingly accents. Ken has done radio commercials to large rock shows during his career. He contends that his favorite setting will always be playing for live audiences and feeling the magic of their response. Ken has many memories of great musicians that he has encountered over the years.
