Biography

The female-fronted five-piece has brought audiences from breakdancing to slam dancing in the span of a few seconds with what Timeout Boston calls a "trance-core/pop-punk hybrid tailor-made to go over like gangbusters on Warped Tour."
Like a flashy nightclub in a shady part of town, Oilhead's rager stirs up an unlikely mix of teeny-bopping daydreams and space-rave synth hooks with a metallic edge. With songs about bad jobs, bad romance and bad decisions, critics have compared Oilhead's sound to a "synth-metal Rise Against and a pissed off Paramore."
Since their formation, Oilhead has quickly established themselves as one of the region's must-see live shows. They've sold out three shows in their first year alone - including two at The Middle East Upstairs, New England's premier launching ground for new bands - and since have toured throughout the Northeastern US, playing as far south as DC and as far west as Pittsburgh.
Distributing over 500 copies of their demo led to the band receiving regular radio play in Boston, MA and Providence, RI.
With plans for another northeastern tour and a five-song EP for fall 2011, Oilhead is a full tank of fun with no plans for slowing down.

Lyrics

C.A.T.S.

Written By: Oilhead

I can’t seem to get a handle on this
You break every promise
But every time I walk away
You keep running back for more
And every kiss was a mistake
There isn’t much heart left to break
The pain wont go away
Cause I can’t break away from you

(chorus)
I know it’s wrong
I know it’s so wrong
But I can’t find a reason why we should be alone

I feel so tangled up in this mess
I can’t avoid it
You are the only reason for all my misery
And if you want to know the truth
Its that I’m so attached to you
The pain wont go away
Cause I can’t break away from you

*chorus (x1000)*

Game Of Life

Written By: Oilhead

You’ve got a job
A car, it takes you where you want to go
You work so hard
Just to pay for food and rent and bills
It’s all
The same routine
Coffee shower work then go to sleep
You have some dreams
But nothing else could be farther away

(chorus)
And I wonder why we’re all so afraid
To change and live our lives
This is our one and only chance
I never thought it would all be just the same
I’m so ashamed
At what we all became

Woke up today
And realized nothing's ever gonna change
It’s all a game
And we’re little plastic pieces on a stage
It’s all the same
We’re running around in circles
Just to try to get ahead
In this messed up life we’re living in

*chorus*

I wonder why
We are so afraid
This is just a game
Take a chance and live your life
It is all a game

*chorus*

It's 6 a.m.
Time to do the same old thing again
And again...

Don't Believe Him

Written By: Oilhead

You took my heart like clay
And you molded into a piece of gum
You keep inside your pocket
When you need something to chew up, baby
You drive me crazy every time you talk about me
Like I’m just another trophy, on your wall
Of stupid girls that you brainwashed
With your smile

I gave this all that I had
I thought this was something to write home about
The way you made me feel
So special, so lovely, but darling
I soon figured out
All those feelings you had were just a practiced routine
In your Broadway act of endless devotion
I don’t understand
This really isn’t fair

(semi-chorus)
Stupid boy
Why do you keep calling me
[and] calling me your friend
I gave all I had to you
And you chewed it up and spit it out
This is not OK

You took my heart like clay
And you molded it into a welcome mat
You keep on your back doorstep
When you need something to walk all over, baby
This is not the way I thought this love thing would be
I know I am one of many girls
But I still wait for you to come and
Sweep me off my feet

(full chorus)
Stupid boy
Why do you keep calling me
[and] calling me your friend
I gave all I had to you
And you chewed it up and spit it out
This is not OK
Stupid boy cant you see you’re killing me
You break me down inside
And I know that this is not alright

*repeat chorus*

I'm Crazy, Deal With It

Written By: Oilhead

This is the kind of situation where
You're gonna want to turn your back and run
I have no explanation of why
I act this way
But you make me so insane

(first chorus)
I don’t want to be the kind of girl
That has to call you all the time
Just to make sure everything’s alright
I may be a little crazy but if you want to be with me
That’s just something you’re gonna have to deal with

I swear I’ve never been this way before
With any other person I’ve ever known
I try to fight the urge to follow you
Wherever you go
And I don’t know
Why I always need to know what you’re up to

(second chorus)
I don’t want to be the kind of girl
That always thinks your gonna leave me
Just because you're gone a little while
I may be a little crazy but if you want to be with me
That’s just something your gonna have to deal with

*repeat first chorus*
