Philly raised rapper who goes by the moniker OS shares his Super Mario Bros inspired single titled “Bowser’s Castle”. It starts with a letter by Princess Toadstool who seeks the help of Mario to come to her rescue . OS delivers his lines with a laid-back, off-kilter style reminiscent of early Earl Sweatshirt but also shows some DOOM influences as well. The beat was made by a friend of OS who challenged him to write his verse in 10 minutes which he did. The SMB inspiration came due to the fact that OS had been playing the game a whole lot and the beat reminded him of the video game.

Bio
OJ Mountain is a rapper and instrumentalist based out of Boston. Currently studying at Temple University, he resides in Philadelphia, and has and connections in both cities. The foundation of his music is abstract hiphop/jazz rap. Within that he switches it up with things such as high-pitched melodic humming singing, the occasional aggressive screaming delivery, and playing the sax. He additionally has an alter-ego whose character is a spiteful banished god. His ultimate goal is to provide something that can transport the listener to a different world and universe by featuring off kilter subject matter and channeling a hip sound into one that is unique to him.
He started releasing music in junior year of high-school, but started rapping in 8th grade and playing the sax in 3rd. His school at the time required students to join band class, and he thought the sax looked the coolest. Later, in middle school, he had some deep seated self esteem issues and discovered that writing raps was something that helped him cope with what was actually going on inside him. he didn’t like being around people, and it was an activity he could do alone that was fulfilling. He had always liked hip hop, but a couple friends on the school bus who also rapped motivated him to start writing his own lyrics. He kept this a secret from everybody for about 3 years, until later in high-school when his desire to be a musician finally outweighed his insecurities.
