okanomodé (uh.kahn.uh.mah.day) aka SoulChilde aka luci christ: is the glamazon warrior, blak faerie, pagan, porntheist, part time monk, nigerian pygmy goat farmer, avant-groid, rebel angel, headmaster of THE CAROUSEL & BITTERS BITCH CABARET.

okanomodé had his first lessons in the art of performance studying artists like Diana Ross & Gene Anthony Ray, films like 'The Wiz' (1978) & 'Fame' (1980), & studying Survival, Evasion, Resistance & Escape, as a black male faerie-childe on the battlefield aka, USA/Christian School playground. He's the grandson of a pastor & protégé of musicians, poets, sex therapists & porn stars. A musical, literary & visual shape-shifter, okanomodé ceaselessly re-defines genre, gender, spiritual & sexual expression. A performance artist with influences as varied as Nina Simone, Grace Jones, Alvin Ailey, Bjork, & Funkadelic, okanomodé has rocked festivals, living rooms, pubs, parks, theaters & bedrooms all over the country, has presented at On The Boards: 12 Minutes Max, & collaborated with artists Greg Brisindine & Chad Goller-Sojourner on 'Requiem at The Bridge: In Honor & Protection of GLBT Youth'. He penned & starred in the one-soul-two-spirit show entitled, 'With Warrior's Tongue: Rebirthe of the Rising Sun' based on texts from his book 'WarriorLamb: a recollection of the tears, rage & silent joys of the last jesuschildren', & has independently released a number of limited edition musical recordings, sold exclusively at shows in addition to various digitally released singles. He has not to date recorded a full studio album due to post-traumatic-crazy-ass-producer-disorder.

A breathtakingly dynamic soloist, & a minister of harmony, okanomodé has featured with avant-garde, new jazz, funk, rock, soul & hip-hop outfits. He's worked with 'Threat Of Beauty', Seattle Rock Orchestra, Choklate, & Spekulation in addition to fronting his own epic stage experience, THE CAROUSEL. He is the librettist & vocalist of Reverie: an experimental pop-opera (for brass, rhythm & voice), composed by Ahamefule J. Oluo, & the writer of luci’s lamb: a post-punk epic musical faerie tale re-imagining the relationship between Jesus & Lucifer (co-composed with Ahamefule J. Oluo/Director Sean Ryan)
