Bio

In Early 2005 after nearly six years of playing together in the pop punk band Corporate Circus, Ryan Bettinger and Jon Huse went their separate ways. Jon relocated to Central Florida where he continued his education, while Ryan, with band in tow relocated to Southern California. There he would continue to gain new fans as well as the recognition for being a talented singer/songwriter. Over the next three years Bettinger and Huse would have little to no contact. Corporate Circus disbanded in early 2008 and for the first time in over a decade Bettinger found himself alone as a solo artist. Unfazed by the change, and motivated by the challenge Bettinger immediately began writing new material for what would soon become known as his best work to date. Meanwhile, all the way across the country Huse had graduated with a bachelors degree in Music Business and was ready for a change. Although Huse had continued to write and play music while in college, most notably his brief stint with the emo band Delaware State Fair Huse found himself wanting something more. Bettinger and Huse briefly reconnected for the first time in several years after seeing each other at the home of a mutual friend in their hometown of Warsaw Indiana. Shortly there after they started joking around with the idea of being in a band together again via text messages. Several months later, a few thousand miles, and a broken car Bettinger and Huse are now doing just that. With Huse and Bettinger now sharing writing responsibilities, Okay At Best have developed a sound that simply put, is their own. Okay At Best is constantly crossing genres and blending sounds that typically might not work for other bands, proving that what doesn’t work for some, will probably work just fine for them. Okay At Best haven’t reinvented the wheel, they’re just rolling with more style. With over a decade of experience in writing and playing music not to mention their close friendship. Bettinger and Huse’s biggest challenge is going to be turning the magic that once was, into the magic that now is Okay At Best.
