Bio
Old Man Grant is a multi-instrumental trio from Ottawa, Ontario. Their music is characterized by expressive, rhythmic playing and soaring three-part harmony. Since 2015, the group has taken the Ottawa music scene by storm and released their first album to a sold out venue in May of 2016. Since the summer, they have completed a tour of the East Coast, co-organized and performed at Black n’ Bluegrass Fest, performed at Ottawa’s CityFolk and Marvest festivals, completed a mini-tour of Québec, and showcased at the Folk Music Ontario Conference. Despite their full roster, the band still maintains their presence in the local dive bars and folk haunts throughout southern Ontario. Old Man Grant’s upcoming Dead of Winter Tour will include performances of new original material from their next full-length release, currently in pre-production and anticipated for spring/summer 2017.
"Old Man Grant deserves to be on stage with the likes of The Devil Makes Three, Brown Bird and Pokey Lafarge. Their unique sound would find a home in any music scene in any city, anywhere."
- Steve Mitton, Murray Street Kitchen“They led us on a genre-hopping melange of bluegrass, folk, blues, vaudeville 20’s jazz, rockabilly country, Dixieland, and more, that pulsed with energy. Add to that their rich three-part vocal harmonies, and song material that ranged from general whiskey-swilling to positive and fun themes of life and love. Right from the first note, it was impossible to sit still.”
- Terry Steeves, Apartment 613
