Bio
Stu and Andy grew up together in Rocky Mount, NC (a little town known chiefly as the birthplace of Thelonious Monk), but split for Nashville on their own at a young age.
It's a hazy story from there. They shuffled around, homeless, broke - making music. They lived in an abandoned theater, out on the streets; everywhere and nowhere. Eventually they chased themselves out of town, and resurfaced in Chapel Hill.
Old Bricks' 2010 LP Farmers was recorded and mixed by Stuart in a basement somewhere around here. It seemed to come out of the blue - born beautiful, haunting, mysterious. Their few live shows were mesmerizing, instantly notorious.
For 2011's City Lights, he and Andy took their sound out in to the ether - still haunting, still beautiful, but now with the driving intensity of their live act. Fuller, more melodic. From here it goes anywhere.

I am actually a tour manager - Let's Wrestle, Dom, Walls, Banjo or Freakout. Freelance for Ground Control. And a venue guy (Cat's Cradle, Bowery, Mercury Lounge). Not really a band manager, per se. Or so I thought. But this band won me over. They're tremendous - weird, beautiful, transcendant, promising - poised to do great things.
