"Old Fashion Faithful Rapidly Rising To Top Of Gospel Music"

It could be said that the rapid rise of Atlanta's Old Fashion Faithful is something of the miraculous. After being together for only a year and a half the group released a CD that was picked up by a major southern gospel record label and began playing on gospel radio throughout the nation.

So how did this happen so quickly? "It's the Lord." says Old Fashion Faithful member Deborah Foster. "We believe that we are walking in His will for our lives and He is blessing our ministry and opening doors for us to serve Him in greater ways".

Deborah, along with other members of the group, which include Theresa Sroufe, Vickie Leach and Debbie Miller, do indeed seem to have divine favor.

Theresa, the group's songwriter, had been a church worship team vocalist since her youth, when in 1997 a visiting minister to her church told her that God was about to use her music ministry in a different way. "Two months later I began writing songs" Theresa says. "I'd never written a song before in my life, but suddenly I could write songs."

Not amature songs either, but hit tunes in the gospel genre. Theresa's 'Little is Much', the title track of their new CD release, had both The Eddie Crook Company and The Rick Hendrix Company, both major Nashville record promoters, putting their names and reputations behind it, promoting the song to southern gospel music radio stations all over the country.

Along with the rising number of gospel radio stations playing their songs, Old Fashion Faithful themselves countinue rising in popularity with Christian music fans everywhere they perform. The quartet has appeared on international satellite gospel television and have their records playing on several internet gospel radio stations, expanding their ministry to a global level.

Vickie Leach, who plays upright bass and sings lower register harmonies for the group provides a special southern charm for the group as Old Fashion Faithful's main spokesperson on stage. "We're kind of a novelty as an all female quartet in a male dominated genre" she says, "But the contemporary Christian music field has several all girl groups, so it's time southern gospel had one, too, and that's who we are".

Debbie Miller, who plays keyboards and sings harmony for the group brings Old Fashion Faithful it's special kind of open heartedness as she shares her experiences of God's favor as well as times of testing in her life during concerts. "God has allowed me to do what I just love doing" she says, "And Old Fashion Faithful has such a wonderful chemistry. We are not only gospel music performers, but great friends as well. It's just been miraculous how God brought us all together".

Miraculous things, it seems, do still happen and Old Fashion Faithful is a Christian music ministry that still experiences them. Amazing doors continue to open for the quartet to spread the gospel through their increasingly popular records and concert performances everywhere they go.

"Atlanta's Old Fashion Faithful Has A Winner With 'Little Is Much'"

'Little Is Much' by Atlanta based all female southern gospel quartet Old Fashion Faithful is one of the more noteworthy releases on the Eddie Crook Company's MorningStar Records label.

The CD offers ten original contemporary southern gospel songs of inspiration, depth and joy in the Lord wriitten by quartet member Theresa Sroufe and beautifully performed by one of the most outstanding newcomer quartets in the national gospel music genre.

Beginning with their theme song 'Old Fashion Faithful', a warm and joyous bluegrass number praising the faithfulness of God, the CD easily moves on to 'Little is Much', the title song of the project.

'Little is Much', an upbeat, New Orleans Jazz and Dixieland style number which is perhaps the catchiest tune of the project, presents the spiritual reality that God can greatly use little things we offer Him.

The CD then goes on to 'Then I Will Hear', a richly annointed lyrical composition and musical arrangement taken from II Chronicles 7:14-16 calling God's people to repentence. This is followed by the project's contemporary Christian music offering 'Jesus Said', a song about the abundant life found in Christ that younger listeners are sure to enjoy.

Next up is 'Focus On The Bible', a lively country tune encouraging the listener to discover the many benefits found in God's Word. This happy number then moves in to 'Worship The Lord', the CD's most beautiful and moving song inviting God's people to come before the Lord in worship and adoration.

From there the CD goes directly into a lively Delta number of praise to the Lord for deliverence in the rousing 'Jesus Loosed Me'. This joyous sing-and-clap-along number comes complete with an introduction by a deep south black church preacher and backup vocals from his choir for the most upbeat and soul stirring offering of the album.

'Jesus Loosed Me' is followed by the CDs second bluegrass song called 'When I Passed By', encouaging God's people to remember the good things He has done for each of us and to go do the same for others.

From there the quartet goes into a traditional southern gospel song called 'Breakthrough!', which is a happy, high spirited offering of encouragment to keep holding on in faith until answers to prayer come.

The CD then concludes with a moving church alter call hymn called 'Come' which invites non-Christians to come to Christ for salvation. The song beautifully rounds out an album that is filled with talent, beauty and creative performances.

'Little is Much' is sure to be a winner with gospel music lovers everywhere, leaving fans of Old Fashion Faithful as well as this reviewer eagerly anticipating the quartet's next CD project. 'Little is Much' is available on MorningStar Records. Ask for it at bookstores or go online to purchase it through Old Fashion Faithful's website at
