Biography

Old Rock City Orchestra was formed in 2009 in Orvieto (Italy) by Cinzia Catalucci (vocals and keyboards) and Raffaele Spanetta (guitars). After common musical experiences in other bands the two founder members decided to start a new music project. Giacomo Cocchiara (bass guitar) and Michele “Mike” Capriolo (drums) joined the band and completed the final lineup.
In 2010 the group recorded their first promo, also broadcasted on Aural Moon Radio, and after good performances at numerous events and many Italian pubs and clubs the band completed their work recording four new songs during summer 2011. In the same year the music critic and writer Andrea Parentin mentioned Old Rock City Orchestra on Rock Progressivo Italiano. An introduction to Italian Progressive Rock.
The band released the debut album Once Upon A Time in June 2012 on the M. P. & Records label. The album, showcased at Tarkus Records in Rome in December of the same year, incorporate progressive and psychedelic rock influences with classical overtones.
Distributed by G. T. Music Distribution, Once Upon A Time has also been reviewed by the Italian magazine Classix! and the Dutch progressive rock music magazine iO Pages.
