"DS Staff Picks – 10 best albums of 2010 (Dan)"

#4. Don’t Give Up by Old School Politics

Old School Politics really sounds old school (I need to stop with the puns), and I guess that’s why I like them. Nothing about this album sounds slick or polished or anything. Just music the way they wanted it to be released. Give me the harmonies of “Montreal, Punk Rock City”, the urgency in the chorus of “Survive”, or the relaxed acoustic number “Coming Home”–which is a gigantic middle finger to anyone opposed to them–anytime. I love this album. - Dan (punktillidie.com)

"Confront Magazine's Broadcasts: Old School Politics"

Old School Politics is a formation of four hard workers who came quite a long way. Regardless of their young age, they have already played with some impressive bands such as Reset, Useless ID, The Johnstones, The Real Deal and Subb. To this day, they have already traveled all-across Canada five times. You can easily tell they are simply crazy about their job and their career as musicians.
The band is composed of Jean-Francois Girard (Guitar and Back Vocals), Benjamin Piette (Lead Singer and Bass), Marc-Antoine ‘Torsh’ Turgeon (Guitar and Back Vocals) and Anthony Cantin (drums). The beginning of 2010 has been extremely busy for the punk-rock band. They have been composing and recording their EP in their guitarist’s basement and playing many shows. If there is one thing they are taking seriously, it is the importance of being on the road and to be out there and meet people. That’s what bands learn from the best, right? Their music is played on many Canadian radios and also on web radios. They need to be heard and they are working hard on it. They sold over two thousand copies of their two previous records and have no intention of stopping there!

May has been incredibly exhausting for the Montreal boys. They have been touring throughout Quebec and Ontario and now you can catch them at Underworld in downtown Montreal on July 2nd opening for Illscarlett. "Young and old"

TUESDAY, APRIL 20, 2010
As we get closer to the headliner, we get closer to the headliner's style. Montreal's Old School Politics pop-punk is in the same vein as Useless Id's. In this case, what you see is what you get: Plenty of speedy popcore with a big debt to acknowledge influences No Use For A Name and Blink-182. - National Capital Rock (ANDREW CARVER)

Bio

Over 310 shows, 3 canadian tours, many tours in Ontario and Quebec, 1 european tour (France & UK), their last CD distributed on iTunes, Amazon.ca and HMVs across Canada and already started the writing of their next album. As they continue to captivate their fans due to their astounding sound; this is what Old School Politics is all about!

Almost 6 years now that separates the time when 4 kids played in a small town basement. Together, they built a dream, and later on became Old School Politics. During this time the music evolved in many different ways and many different members have joined and left the Old School Politics family. Even with these changes the band never lost their perspective of their dream and their energy which was inspired by their childhood.

With their own true sound, Old School Politics is definitely a band you want to see live or simply listen to..! They gave a solid performence on Musique Plus (French canadian MTV/MuchMusic) this year
