Bio
Born in Sherbrooke and raised in Montreal, by
way of New Brunswick, Oliver Charles discovered his
passion for music as a teenager. After teaching himself piano and guitar, he
graduated from Collège Marie-Victorin with a song writing degree, and then
quickly made a name for himself through his voice and the quality of his
musical compositions. He continues to impress new fans with his diligent and
inspiring style, as well as his musical maturity.
Things began to move even faster for Montreal
based singer songwriter Oliver Charles. He released «Rage
For Fire» (2012) and «Heart Of Stone» (2014), both EP’s
helped him develop and discover his writing abilities, whether it be the
unifying strength of his vocals and his acoustic, orchestral and/or
minimalistic arrangements that inspires a folk sound and a nod to hooks that
are more common in modern pop.
“Through my music, I try to grasp many themes
that people can express in their own way and through their own lives. Love,
friendship, loss and desire, are topics that inspired my songs and hopefully
will move others. My first full-length album will be the result of all these
thoughts and inspirations. The album is
set for release this fall 2015.” -Oliver Charles
The launch of Oliver Charles (2014)
first single Don’t Let Me Go, from his latest EP “Heart Of Stone”, quickly entered
the Top 25 songs of the English ADISQ charts in Quebec. Since then, it has been
playing in radio stations across Canada.
Determined to follow up on this success, Oliver released (2015) the second
single I Can’t Love You Just Yet. It is an inspired folk-pop anthem with a memorable melody and inspired
lyrical content that gives us a glimpse of his upcoming full-length album. Already, I Can’t Love You Just Yet
has become a solid, universal radio hit in Quebec and Canada!
It is safe to say that Oliver
Charles has many surprises in store for us this year!
