Bio
Olivia Colenso is a folk singer songwriter from New Zealand currently based in Toronto, Canada.
Her skillful guitar playing and beautifully crafted lyrics come together to create her unique sound. Her music is filled with catchy riffs, beautiful acoustic picking and dark, subtle undertones and she leaves audiences with a heartfelt performance.
From a very early age Olivia has had the ambition to become a successful musician.
Starting at the age of 5, she organised and performed shows for her family, moved on to larger audiences playing the piano at concerts held by her teacher and in her teens joined a heavy rock/metal band which competed in local events and gigged regularly.
It was when Olivia turned 25 that she knew she wanted to be a singer/songwriter and this was when she began developing her own sound.
In the short time Olivia has been performing live she has accomplished a great deal. She has obtained consecutive gigs at Auckland's annual Pride festival, played live on Kiwi Fm, performed at the grand opening of a Canadian starbucks store and recorded her debut E.P "Autums' Falling".
Olivia's music is genuine and engaging. Often her songs are filled with personal lyrics that anyone can relate to. She easily combines the traditional folk style with her own unique sound giving you; Olivia Colenso.
