Bio

OLVR… , Darius Oliver (born October 25th, 1994), better known by his stage name OLVR… (pronounced “OLIVER”), is an American singer, songwriter, and rapper from Charlotte, North Carolina. He is known for his single "Paralyzed", which was released in September 2018.

Oliver was born in Anderson, SC and raised in Atlanta, GA. After finishing high school at Riverwood International Charter School (Sandy Springs, GA), he moved to Charlotte NC to continue his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management.  His love for the artistry of music came later in life at the age of 23. Oliver released his first EP “Departed” in March of 2017 and decided to take his music career seriously in August of 2017 as an independent artist. His style of music dwells in the realm of the new age trap soul genre. Oliver also calls it “The OLVR… version of smooth, new age R&B that hops”. This is OLVR... Soul.

Artist like OLVR… are Bryson Tiller, 6lack, Tory Lanez, Jahkoy and Eli Sostre. All artists are also huge inspirations for his music style.

Growing up he was an avid lacrosse player (starting at the age of 9) and surfer (starting at the age of 14). Learning to surf in North Myrtle Beach, SC, he was able to spend summers there with his grandparents on vacations. During college Oliver took a year and a half from school to focus on himself and surfing. Oliver lived in Wilmington, NC for a season of his life and worked at Tony Silvagni Surf School (being the first Black American to work for the school) where he passed down his love of surfing to children as a surf instructor. He even became a sponsored surfer/team rider for Carolina Surf Brand in 2015 and the first Black surfer to ride for their new team.

Oliver has been able to travel to El Salvador, Jamaica, and to most of the US. After traveling to El Salvador and working on an orphanage, his love to end the cause of Human Trafficking/Sex slavery became his why and purpose for life. He wishes to help more people in need and have a platform to raise more awareness and invest more in different non-profit groups around the world. A few groups that Oliver supports are Freedom 424, SurfRider Foundation, Life Rolls On, Toys for Tots, Project Underground and many more.
