Omanyeaba are a vibrant and colorful musical group from Ghana, West Africa. Omanyeaba Dance Ensemble is an extraordinary acclaimed musicians, educators, and composers from the Greater Accra region of Ghana, and has its roots from the coastal fishing towns of Accra. The founding members are the hereditary keepers of the family royal drums. Omanyeaba founding members has kept up this family tradition all of their life by struggling to maintain and nurture the traditional instrument, music, and rhythms of West Africa. The dance ensemble taught and performs all over the West Africa and some of the leading members have performed in the U.K, Australia and United State of America. Wherever they go, they brings along their passion for African music dance and drumming.

Omanyeaba means ‘blessing’ in the local language of their hometown of Accra. These exciting percussion and dance ensembles present a high-energy and dynamic performance featuring music, drumming, dance, and percussion and soaring vocal harmonies. Their name becomes clear as you experience their performance, loving and celebrating their blessing through music and dance.

With about 22 drums played with hands, feet and sticks, Omanyeaba bring their instruments to life as they share a fusion of traditional Ghanaian music and dance depicting the life and soul and rich heritage of their ancestors, blended with their own refreshingly contemporary and original compositions.

Omanyeaba teaches percussion, dance and singing through their various workshops to the community, at festivals, schools, universities and private tuition. Dance and drum classes are tailored to the individual requirements of their students for all levels of experience, from the bell enthusiast to the drum professional.

Now, through a new management, Omanyeaba Dance Ensemble will be able to reach thousands of new people like you and show you the fun you can have playing about 22 drums played with hands, feet and sticks.
