Om Tree Folk Collective is singer/songwriter, Chris Eakins' first solo project. In September of 2007, Chris started the Om Tree Collective as a front to bring all the great friends he has played with over the years together to write and perform with. Now after years of perfecting his song writing craft, Chris is bringing his music to your living room and favorite stages.
In the summer of 2008 he recorded "North River," his debut album.
In the winter of 2008, Chris Eakins recorded his first Children's Album, "Batman and Little Bunny's Super Awesome Fun Party." He worked closely with good friend and musical partner Dwight Schenk to weave this tall tale. It is a story told through music of two little superhero's from the same block, Batman and Little Bunny. They have wonderful super powers and have a calling to save the world, but as the two of them are not allowed to cross the street, they invite everyone over to their house for a world saving super awesome fun party. Come on over - we have chips, juice, fruit and SUPER POWERS!! FUN... WE'RE HAVING FUN!!!
In september of 2009, the Om Tree Folk Collective has started recording the first full length album. It is scheduled to be released in March 2010. Look for "Hog Town's Loss" soon.
Currently, The Om Tree Folk Collective is working at playing as much as possible in Toronto while finishing the recording of Hog Town's Loss. Look for Om Tree to come to your town during the summer of 2010 as a full Canadian Tour is in the works.
