Biography

On Carlton Row is a Folk Rock Jam Band that formed back in 2007 with Joe Roma and Aaron Blake playing multiple venues around the Tampa Bay area as an Acoustic Duo. Soon after they wanted to expand their music and began adding the rest of a band by bringing in bass, drums, and a sax player. A brilliant mixture of funk, rock, rhythm, and blues On Carlton Row has always had a very unique but diverse mixture of music. Incorporating instruments like the mandolin, banjo, multiple saxophones, and EWI adds to this wonderful sound and turns the live shows into an event not easily forgotten. Continuing to gig around the west coast and having recently won the Ultimate Opening Act Semi-Finals at the Ritz Ybor and continuing on to be runner-up over all: On Carlton Row is a sound and experience all their own.

Crawl

Written By: Joe Roma

Walking I met a man
Smile wide and lantern in his hand
He said, "Son, where you going, tell me where you off to
Where you been?"
Said, going to town to make a little dime
Gonna make a little time and gonna come on back
Come on back home, satisfied
Sit right down my new found friend, get comfortable
You ain't going nowhere
See your life has no meaning, no plan small or grand

Let your thoughts crawl
Right out your mouth
And as they float away
Know that you're here to stay.

So the time has come to decide just who I am
Do I make my way back on down that long, long road back home
Do I take my place by the devil's side
Do I turn around do I run and hide
Do I go on home, go on home unsatisfied
Said you ain't got nothing on me
You fucking dirty old man
All you got is that lantern in your hand

Let your thoughts crawl
Right out your mouth
And as they float away
Know that you're here to stay
And all that you are and all you've yet to be
You ain't got nothing on me, you ain't got nothing on me

All that you are and all you've yet to be
You ain't got nothing on me, I know
Know where you are, know where you’re going
Know where you're from
You'll find your way back home

So I finally found my way back home
Said I don't know when I'll be back
I don't know when I'll be gone but I'll meet you again
Walking I met a man
Smile wide and lantern in his hand
We'll meet again, at my end.

Funk

Written By: Joe Roma

On a starry night
The wind blows cool and the moon shines bright
Bend your neck to me
Press your lips against mine, I'm feeling fine.

Change sure takes time
To change the world can take quite a long while
Won't you come along
We'll save the world, and right the wrongs

So good luck you say to me
With the weight of the world
Where a smile should be
And as you turn your head to cry
I can't, I can't help but smile

Baby I know it's true I'll change the world for you
Knock it right down and build it back up to the top
Girl I know you're mine loving me all the time
Gonna take you home and steal you away steal you away
Honey

Wake up in the grass
On a deep blue morning somewhere in the past
Breathe in the heavy air
Though you've gone away, today's another day

Lay down your heavy load
Rest awhile the day grows old
Won't you tell us what you've seen
Have you found the answers what does it all mean

So good luck you say to me
With the weight of the world
Where a smile should be
And as you turn your head to cry
I can't, I can't help but smile

Baby I know it's true I'll change the world for you
Knock it right down and build it back up to the top
Girl I know you're mine loving me all the time
Gonna take you home and steal you away steal you away
Honey

So Alive

Written By: Joe Roma

So alive, turn and twist and drive me wild
Make me feel just like I've lost my mind
Oh my love I feel so alive
Oh there with you my love
Make me believe in god above
And follow you to the farthest lines
Maybe even to the end of times
With love so bright

And I know it all may end
While my tired head sleeps in bed
But with you there by my side
It's alright, if I don't wake up

Your love, its all I need
You're the drug in my veins the air that I breathe
And I long to hold you tight
From the start of the day to the end of the long, long

So alive, turn and twist and drive me wild
Make me feel just like I've lost my mind
Oh my love I feel so alive
Oh there with you my love
Make me believe in god above
And follow you to the farthest lines
Maybe even to the end of times
With love so bright

And I know it all may end
While my tired head sleeps in bed
But with you there by my side
It's alright, if I don't wake up
Your love, its all I need
You're the drug in my veins the air that I breathe
And I long to hold you tight
From the start of the day to the end of the long, long night

So alive, turn and twist and drive me wild
Make me feel like I've lost my mind
Oh my love I feel so alive
