Bay Shore's One4Five got cut from “The X Factor” Wednesday night, but still advanced to the Round of 24 after taking on a new member.
The judges decided to give the rapping brothers Jemelle and Julien Joseph another chance, inviting them to the next round if they formed a new group with solo rapper Lyric Da Queen from Flint, Mich. (Simon Cowell's “X Factor” likes creating new groups to compete on the show, a process that led to forming One Direction on the show's British version.)
The new group, Lyric 145, did well in their next audition, doing a hip-hop version of Miley Cyrus' “Party in the USA” in front of Cowell and mentor Marc Anthony at Cowell's home in Miami Beach.
“Very impressed,” said Anthony, praising Lyric Da Queen as a superstar.
The members of the new Lyric 145 were clicking.
“How is it even possible?” Jemelle told Cowell. “You found a female version of us.”
In true “X Factor” fashion, the results are being used as a cliffhanger, with the finalists not being announced until next week. If Lyric 145 advance to the next round, they will be one of 16 acts performing live for a chance to win a $5 million recording contract.

who is ONE4FIVE? 2 brothers born & raised in Queens, New York (on 145th Street). As soon as they could walk & talk they began to mimic music videos or their favorite music artist. This copy cat practice grew in to original writings then creating original productions and as they've grown so have their skills musically. After having their home robbed, the ONE4FIVE family relocated to Long Island in 2000. After being encouraged by an older cousin to begin to take their musical talents more seriously, ONE4FIVE was formed. Five members deep ONE4FIVE began to perform, create and grow with every opportunity. With the other members out grown of the group, the 2 youngest members continued the ONE4FIVE movement. After years & years or shows, deals, songs & situations ONE4FIVE has evolved into a unique sound & style that they can call their own.
Two brothers; @MrMelee and @SirJewlz grew up listening and loving music, are now hard at work building career’s out of pure love for music is the essence of ONE4FIVE. They produce, write, and develop their sound and their style. These boys take pride in being MC’s so every time they perform they are sure to give the crowd a performance filled with energy, excitement and flavor. ONE4FIVE also strives on being versatile so they are always experimenting with other sounds, styles genres of music to create a new sound, style & genre.
In 2012, ONE4FIVE was featured on Season 2 of FOX's hit television show "The X-Factor". After many audition, challenges & performances ONE4FIVE accompanied by Lyric Da Queen (Lyric145) finished the competition in 12th place. They have been featured on HOT 97 with Rosenberg & Cipha Sounds and many other local, major & international, underground, and internet radio stations. In 2014, ONE4FIVE became true international Hip-Pop artist by performing a 3 month, 40 city, 70 show tour in China.
So, who is ONE4FIVE? The name alone is unique which comes from their original hometown of Jamaica, Queens, New York on 145th Street, where their appreciation for Hip Hop/ Rap all began. Although it is difficult to compare them to anyone, if questioned they would say they're a mixture between the Black Eyed Peas & legendary Hip-Hop duo Outcast.
@MrMelee, the older half of ONE4FIVE is a Rapper, Producer and Engineer (the man with the plan). In 2007 after graduating high school Melee went on to pursue his music endeavors by enrolling into an audio engineering school, R.E.I. He graduated with honors as a certified audio engineer at the ripe age of eighteen.
Also, adding to the equation is @SirJewlz, who makes up the second half of ONE4FIVE. Jewlz is also a rapper, lyricist, producer, and the dancer of the group. He can bring the swag to the group (like no other). Summer 2011 & 2012 Jewlz became a gold medalist for NAACP-ACTSO for Oratory & Film making, Even though he could become one of the best in both, he will tell you that his love for music comes first.
ONE4FIVE is even apart of a Traveling Spoken Word/ Theatre Group called, “The Truth Urban Theater Group” in which they provide a positive poetic Hip-Hop element to acting skits. The Truth UTG. is a non- profit organization that use poetry and acting to portray a message of social empowerment. This organization has entertained and inspired audience all over the world and has won many awards including one from the NAACP in 2008. Most recently The Truth sparked a world-wide impact getting half a million views with a movement entitled #CardsForCops. Through The Truth UTG, ONE4FIVE uses their words to inspire young people to be productive, make better choices & live life with positivity & purpose.
This unstoppable Dynamic Duo is on their way to the top of the music charts & the depths of your hearts. Their sound is unique, like no other, young and bold, clear and concise, rhythmic and rambunctious. ONE4FIVE aims to impact the world, music is only the vehicle to do so. Their influence will spread way beyond, CDs & MP3's, ONE4FIVE aims leave a everlasting legacy of greatness for mankind.
