"Bluewater Radio"

Hello David: Thank you so much for sending along a copy of Jack Up The
>> Blues. When I returned home Friday from a business trip, I was thrilled
>> to
>> find it had arrived . . . and I'm listening to it again right now for the
>> third time already. In particular, the band's renditions of Don't Worry
>> Baby
>> and No Fighting are absolutely fantastic, my friend.
>>
>> This upcoming week, I will be downloading a number of tracks from the CD
>> into the Bluewater Blues radio show inventory. And, starting with this
>> upcoming Thursday night's show (Dec. 20), I'll be playing them regularly
>> on
>> the air. In fact, I've scheduled Don't Worry Baby and No Fighting to air
>> very early in the first hour this Thursday night, just a little after 9
>> p.m.
>>
>> Hey, any chance I can get you on the line for a live on-air chat about
>> One
>> Bald Tire on an upcoming Thursday night? Are you available Dec. 27? If
>> not,
>> that's understandable, given the holiday season. If not, how about Jan.
>> 3?
>>
>> Thanks again, David, for sending along the CD. I'm enjoying it very much,
>> and I'm sure the Bluewater Blues listeners will, too.
>>
>> All the best . . . Mike.

"A FAN"

Hey, I love your music. I was out to the Swing Dance that you played at
the Navy Club in Waterloo and I've also seen you at The Club and Wally's
and you guys have some of the best danceable blues I've ever heard. I'll
be sending you a cheque for one of your new CD's for sure. How do you
deliver, or where can I pick it up?

Keep on rockin' . . .

"Brando's"

One Bald Tire is one great blues band and they are live at Brando's! Saturday June 7th 2008 One Bald Tire is crashing on to the Corona Mainstage for a spectacular Brando's Blues Cruise Event! Cover is only $5.00 and as always this promises to be the best show in town. A great dance-able blues band added to the already huge Brando's Blues Cruise lineup, and a great way to kick off the month of June! - Brando's

"Brantford's EXPOSITOR newspa"

For a guy who's singing the blues, Brent Johnson sure sounds happy.
The Brantford vocalist is thrilled to be gigging with One Bald Tire, a slick-sounding traditional blues outfit whose remaining five members are based in the Kitchener/Guelph area.
"We jell together awesome. It's rare that you find six guys who really respect each other and all really know what they are doing," says Johnson, who, at 33, is a youngster among the group of veteran players, including guitarist David Bailey - who founded the band - and saxman James Brown.
After years of playing in area rock bands, Johnson joined One Bald Tire two years ago. The different genre is a blast.
"It's very uptempo, fun stuff," he says of classics such as Flip, Flop and Fly, Caladonia and Don't Worry Baby.
Their take on those tunes and a couple of originals is showcased on an indie CD called Jack Up the Blues. It's been a hit since debuting in September, with more than 500 copies sold.
"We may have to get more printed off," says Johnson, noting the discs have been snapped up at performances. And some have gone global, with far-flung sales through the group's website, www.onebaldtire.com.
One Bald Tire - who hit The Alex on Saturday night - perform a couple of times a month, around southern and central Ontario. The musicians pride themselves on putting on a show, donning snappy suits and going all-out to entertain.
"We really enjoy playing live and that really comes off. We practise so much that we can get out there and really enjoy it. We're very prepared."
Like the other members, Johnson holds down a day job, working in the Miteco division at Ferraro. He's also a family man, father to 18-month-old son, Lyric, with wife Danielle Johnson.
A love of the spotlight comes naturally. His aunt, Jan Stevens, was a popular performer in local legions and clubs before her death in 2006.
