"DIG IT"

DIG IT
You know those mornings where the alarm clock begins your day with the perfect song – you don’t hit the snooze – you don’t dance on the bed – but at the end of that song - your eyes are open and you welcome the opportunity to drink all that the world has to offer – One Blue Door brings that infectious groovy energy to the stage and quickly fills the room with it.

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE ATTITUDE
Given the unenviable task of not only being the opening act at the 2009 Brewno Awards, One Blue Door were playing during the cocktail hour before the awards were even handed out. They did so with excitement at the opportunity “to practice.” They cheerfully set up without much assistance as chaos erupted behind the scene (resulting in one volunteer being relieved of duty that afternoon). While they practiced, the conversations dwindled to short bursts between songs. If you are concerned that One Blue Door was the second coming of the Brady-Partridge-Bunch, don’t be.

AT THE END OF THE DAY
At the end of the day, One Blue Door delivered the goods with the sincerity of flower power and a real rock and/or roll energy in a funky package. They were a blast!

ON THE RADIO
One Blue Door’s March 28/09 interview on Beer For Breakfast has quickly become one of the show’s most talked about segments.

WHO IS THIS AND WHY SHOULD I CARE
They call me broose. I organize The Brewnos, an annual celebration of local music; produce and host Beer For Breakfast on 92.9 KICK FM, which is dedicated to local music, arts, and community. It is my job to seek out and find great new talent in Winnipeg.

Stay Motivated!

Bio

Like E.F. Hutton, when One Blue Door plays, people listen. This quintet from Winnipeg, Canada has seen their fan base growing by leaps and bounds, based around their music(featuring 3 and 4 part harmonies), catchy hooks, and an energetic live show that keeps the audience engaged. If you were to ask any of these five where they get their sound, they’ll tell you that it comes from the Prairies. Fitting, as they call themselves “Prairie Rock”, citing influences ranging from Blue Rodeo and Neil Young, to Wide Mouth Mason and Age of Electric.
This is definitely a band that needs to be seen twice – because they do shows both acoustic (with Kevin Cote, their drummer, on hand percussion), and Electric (with Cote behind a traditional kit). This makes them able to go from a rocking club show to a quieter house concert with little effort, and with no less energy.
The band is currently working on their debut release, with lead off single “Last Time(Untitled)” receiving radio airplay both in Winnipeg, and on CHES FM in the Greater Toronto Area.
