Delivering unforgettable hooks, catchy melodies, thought provoking lyrics, and a powerful live performance is what One Divided does best. After the release of their self-titled EP in 2008, and their first full length album “Shape Your Life” in the fall of 2010, the singles “The Mask I Hide Behind” and “Solutions” were featured on commercial radio station 94.9 The Rock. The album was also awarded with "Best Rock Recording of 2010" by the Durham Region Music Society.
Having originally formed in early 2006 by lead vocalist/guitarist; Matt Silver, bass player Mike Liske, and drummer/backing vocalist; Matt Godin, the power trio known as One Divided conquered their way into the hearts of fans everywhere around the GTA. Despite triumphantly winning the title of “Best Live Act” of 2007 in Durham Region, due to the departure of Mike Liske and an unfortunate run-in with madness for Matt Silver, it led to a brief hiatus for the band.
This was not enough to stop One Divided from continuing their love for music, though. After the return of Matt Silver, the two remaining members discovered talented local bass player/songwriter, Tyler McIlveen. They quickly released their self-titled EP in 2008, and immediately began writing for their acclaimed full length debut, "Shape Your Life". The boys continue to play venue-packed shows across the GTA, and have been gaining respect and attention from a diverse array of fans.
One Divided continue to explore their unique alternative rock sound while they work on their follow-up LP, to be recorded in the Summer of 2011. Give in to your deepest urges, open your mind, and let the intoxicating sound of One Divided take you for a ride you won’t forget. Stay tuned!
