Bio
All of the members of the band met through taking classes at the Old Town School of Folk Music. OFU has played a number of venues, both solo and as part of multi-performer shows, including: The Beat Kitchen, The Leadway, The Hideout, Bill's Blues (Evanston), Martyrs', Giddings Plaza (as part of the Lincoln Square Summer Concert Series), and the Red Line Tap. In March of 2006, OFU cut a live demo CD with John Abbey of New Soup Recording.
OFU strives to play a fun mix of rock, folk, and country songs - led by strong vocal harmonies, punctuated by great guitar licks, and enhanced by foot-tapping beats that only a full rhythm section can provide. Our set list contains both original songs and an eclectic mix of covers. We draw inspiration from great musicians like The Indigo Girls, Girlyman, The White Stripes, Lucinda Williams, Catie Curtis, and Tegan and Sara. Our main goals, however, are to entertain and have fun.
