one L

one L

Afro-Cuban inspired Salsa/Samba/Rock with a screaming horn section and an authentic percussion section. All original compositions with some covers of Latin American classics.

Influenced by Arsenio Rodriguez, Orchestra Baobab and Jorge Ben to name a few, "one L" presents Latin rhythms incorporating electric guitar and a world of musical influence. "one L" was formed by Philip Kohnen in early 2006 after studying percussion and composition with Grammy Award Nominee Roberto Juan Rodriguez and studying "tres Cubano" with renowned "tresero" Benjamin Lapidus. Currently based in Athens, GA, the band is recording their first EP to be released in 2009.

"one L" is currently working on an album to be released this year. In the meantime, visit our website -- to hear more music.
