Biography

One Tiger Down play a unique and eclectic mix of rock, funk, soul and pop to create an exciting and electrifying breed of music. Melodious vocals, smooth electric lines and a strong groove characterise the sound of this melodic rock four-piece from Fremantle.

“These guys know an absolute truck load about blues/soul/roots music.
You just can’t fake this kind of thing”
- Jaymes Brown, Drum Media

OTD has been making waves throughout the Perth music industry since 2008 when they released their self-titled debut EP to a string of sold-out shows. This Tiger was quickly seen as a roaring success as the EP soon sold out, and the follow up release of the film clip ‘Wise Yung Yu’ was included on the ‘Kiss My WAMi 09’ compilation.

Following numerous tours to the South West and a loyal following growing in Perth, OTD set their sights on the East Coast and toured to Melbourne in 2009. The band released the successful self-funded single ‘Bow and Arrow’ soon after; a recording which captured the hearts and minds of their fans and built on the reputation their debut EP had created.

The Year of the Tiger (2010) began with a bang for OTD with a stellar performance at the 2010 Southbound Festival. The year didn’t slow as the band prowled through Western Australia’s North West and South West, opened the West Coast Blues & Roots Festival at the Official Opening and headlined many high-profile local shows. The year finished on a high with OTD supporting big name national touring acts Lior and Matt Corby, to name a few.

OTD have spent the start of 2011 in the creative mode and are busily writing new material for their up coming second EP release. So keep your ear and eye on the Tiger for a sneak peak of the new tunes and release dates.

Bow & Arrow

Bow & Arrow

Mr Director with your pretend lolly pop,
Practice till it makes you drop.
If you pull the strings,
If you cock the bow,
If you set the sights you’ve gotta…
You gotta pull the trigger

Take it back I can’t take it anymore.
I know you’ve won.
I can hack it I’m ready for what’s in store
What’s done is done.

Dreaming of reality doesn’t rejuvenate.
Tired and weary eyed, but still alive,
I’m bleeding and I’m bloody.
Shot through the heart.
I’m a fool for admiring you…
For pulling the trigger

Take it back I can’t take it anymore.
I know you’ve won.
I can hack it I’m ready for what’s in store
What’s done is done.

You’ve gotta take the shot
You’ve gotta take the shot Mr Tell
You’ve gotta take the shot
You’ve gotta take the shot yourself.

Take it back I can’t take it anymore.
I know you’ve won.
I can hack it I’m ready for what’s in store
What’s done is done.

Juxtaposition

'Juxtaposition'

When ever i come over to your house
And you tell me that you love me
I care for you so much
that i don't wont to force a tear
from your eyes
are so pretty
your so pretty
Oh but where is my mind
cause i'm trying to decide.

I didn't mean to tell you i love you
But it happened any way
but I did and I don't
And I could but I wont
But it happened anyway

Still I find myself at the bottom of your steps
And i'm looking up and i'm wondering why
Should i keep up this facade
Will she ever see... see through

I didn't mean to tell you i love you
But it happened any way
but I did and I don't
And I could but I wont
But it happened anyway
But it happened just the same
But it happened anyway

Is it a mistake that i've made
The twisting and the turning of everyday battle
Is your love shrivelling in the sun
Like my like

I didn't mean to tell you i love you
But it happened any way
but I did and I don't
And I could but I wont
But it happened anyway
Is it a mistake that i've made
The twisting and the turning of everyday battle

Take What You Want

Take What You Want

Hey you there standing taking,
When you share you’ll be happy.
Some say we can never truly give.
The bad intentions and hidden agendas,
Are hidden from even the souls we we’re born with.

There’s always something in it for me.
There’s always something in it for me.
I’ll never give out with out expecting something in return.
What a bad philosophy.

When you fall there’s not always a way back up the wall.
But you may find yourself inclined to fall once more.

There’s always something in it for me.
There’s always something in it for me.
I’ll never give out with out expecting something in return.
What a bad philosophy.
