Bio

Originally formed in 2000, Queens-based band One Time gathered a loyal local following by setting up several weekly residencies. The bands’ “Wild Naked Safaris Wednesdays” at Da Funky Phish in Bayshore, LI featured 4+ hours of live music and bar games. One Time also set up shop at legendary NYC jamband mecca The Wetlands becoming the first act to perform sets on both the upstairs and downstairs stage in the same night.

The following year the band hit the road for an east coast college tour and even secured themselves spots opening for acts like Lil Kim, 3 Doors Down, Dispatch, and Living Color.

In 2004 the group disbanded, but principal songwriters Craig Coakley and guitarist E-Rok reunited in 2008 to perform a memorial show for drummer John “Beatz” Holohan who tragically died while touring with the band Bayside. The show was such a success that the two decided to start writing and recording new material along with latest band members Rich N. (bass), Chris Izzo (drums) and Dave Ross (organ/synth).

The resulting four songs are influenced by the band’s history of incredible highs (playing in front of thousands of college kids) and death-defying lows (from an exploding van to a member taking a 3-story plunge--and surviving--off a Brooklyn rooftop). The recordings, produced by the band, will be available as an EP and One Time is planning a string of live shows in the tri-state area.
