One trick Pony provided trippy folk rock that's like a pop rock explosion for your ears. - The Deli Magazine
One Trick Pony (below), similarly freaked me out at their show at The Satellite last month, and they did just the same here. Randolph Willliams' sweet voice is just the right vehicle for the sunny, samba/calypso/rock he performs so well.
Augmented by Charlene Huang on violin and Todd Laughlin on banjo the whole band performed a sizzling set of new compositions and old favorites. Midway through the performance, Randy unwittlingly invited a transported Rob Danson, playing some wooden flute, resembling a demented Puck from A Midsummer Night's Dream, to join them on stage for a couple of songs. He blew our minds...It was a curiously electrifying performance. The band managed to hold it together and got through their wonderful set. I can't wait to hear new recordings from this band, because they've never sounded better. - Radio Free Silver Lake
