After a series of solid leaks, today is the day Chicago artist Onis is releasing his newest project The Time Is Now, which is hosted by tastemaker DJ Burn One. The inspirational 11 track project evokes an honest feeling of Chicago’s trials & tribulations many can relate to. Without straying away from his true style, Onis excels in bringing new content to the saturated Chicago scene. Be honest, you probably saw Onis’ name on FSD over the past few years, but 2012 was the year you really started listening. The Stay Humble camp didn’t ask for your ears, they demanded them; and in turn they offered up something different than that of their Chicago contemporaries. Straight bars over dope beats. No frills. Enlisting Nascent to handle a bulk of the production, Onis showed up, and proved he should be right up there with the Chi’s most respected spitters. Features from Ras Kass, Cormega and Lungz didn’t hurt either. His time is truly now.

Bio
Born on the eastside and raised in the wild 100's section of Chicago, Onis brings vivid storytelling and raw lyrics to the forefront in a time where we need more substance in these records. He lists Nas and Guru as two of his favorites. Onis is also enrolled in school for architecture.
His project "The Time Is Now" features Cormega, Ras Kass, BJ The Chicago Kid and more. His latest single "Lake Shore Drive" is an anthem which embodies summertime Chicago.
Onis performed at 3 venues at SXSW and will be performing at CMJ in the fall. He has licensed music on "Bad Girls All Star Club" with two other shows coming in the fall. He's just trying to expand the music and the fanbase.
