On-J (on-jay) is an experienced, dynamic band who play standards, modern favorites, instrumentals, and world music for your special event, corporate function, wedding, or holiday party.

Biography

Andrzej is a musician whose music reflects his experiences living in Paraguay, Switzerland, Senegal, Guinea Bissau, Niger, Sudan, Minnesota, Virginia, and most recently Berkeley and San Francisco, California.

In 1995 Andrzej entered the Minneapolis-St. Paul music scene as founder and leader of the renowned band Kangaroo, performing to great acclaim in clubs and college venues. Kangaroo recorded Juniper and Baobab in 1997, which featured world-pop fusion, with African, Latin, and American folk influences. Since then, Andrzej has recorded several solo albums as a singer-songwriter, notably "Lost in Eden" (2000), "Midnight, Montreal," (2005) and, most recently, "Manitou" (to be released in 2009)

Violinist Michele Walther loves to play and perform a variety of musical styles: jazz, world music, tango, avant-garde, classical, Balkan, klezmer, and more. She toured with Ian Anderson/Jethro Tull on the East Coast, and has performed with Los Gatos Azules, Los Changos , Pablo Ablanedo Septet, Vardan Ovsepian Chamber Ensemble The Boston String Quartet, Oscar Feldman, Joe Lovano, Gloria Estefan, and more.

Together, On-J interpret many favorites and new music with their own style - enticing and melodic with just enough edge to enliven any event!
