On Loan

On Loan

BandAlternativeRock

Genre-Bending Piano Rock.

Biography

On Loan began as a 4 piece Piano-Rock band in 2006 and shortly thereafter released a genre-bending mix of rock songs. With roots closer to Jerry-Lee Lewis than "Coldplay" On Loan finds a way to blend the old with the new without sacrificing originality. In a time when labels are scrambling to find bands that sound just like other big acts On Loan is unafraid to sound different.

Lyrics

Gloria

Written By: Ryan Beard

Sunday got lost on me
Didn't wake up in my bed today
You know they say we're sinners
Righteousness is for beginners
I know I'm depraved

Someday, they swear we're gonna see
The error of our wicked ways
They're gonna live forever
But man, it's now or never
Always crying, keep on trying
Don't even know that they're dying

Gloria don't you turn away
Because you knew just what your momma'd say
You're trying to be honest
Honestly, I don't see why they even get a say
In this thing we built
From the sticks and stones
That they keep throwing
Over months, and years
You know all of this will disappear

Gloria, I know you think you lost your grace
Gloria, Like life will never be the same
Gloria, Just know that they can't take your
Gloria

Never Met You

Written By: Ryan Beard

I wish I'd never met you, met you
I wish I'd never met you
Bet you know this by now
Don't you know this by now

I wish I didn't get you, get you
I wish you didn't know me
Know me so well
You know me so well

But this time ain't anything but wrong
Just like the saddest songs
We sing the hollow hallelujah
Don't say goodbye before you're gone
We'll spin the clock back around
And fight the break of dawn

This Story's old, as time goes on
We all write our own verses
To the hymn of heartbreak
Unrequited love and ecstasy
We don't last long
But that's what makes us beautiful

I wish I'd never met you, met you
I wish I'd never met you
Bet you know this by now
Don't you know this by now

I wish I didn't get you, get you
I wish you didn't know me
Know me so well
You know me so well

But your eyes say more than I can speak
And if my heart weren't so weak
We'd run until the earth stopped spinning
I am standing still
Right where we said goodbye
And let love pass us by
To find another kill

This Story's old, as time goes on
We all write our own verses
To the hymn of heartbreak
Unrequited love and ecstasy
We don't last long
But that's what makes us beautiful

But this time ain't like the times before
And I just can't close the door
They'll call us crazy, That's ok
Because when I'm with you
Nonsense makes perfect sense

The Places We'll Go

Written By: Ryan Beard

We don't belong here, you and I
We're bruised and broken
And I don't see why
We don't get the hell
Up out of this town
They're heaven bound
And we're bringing them down

You don't belong there, in the sky
You're too damn proud
And heavy to fly

So what if you fall down
And break off your wings
You're stuck in the dirt
With us dirty things

Oh, the places we'll go
They won't ever know
The places we've been
I know your scars will still show
But at least you won't have to hide them
Anymore

So why go on wearing
Your righteous lies
You're born you make your mistakes
And you die
If God's got a savior
His work isn't through
Because I can't save myself
Let alone you

Oh, the places we'll go
They won't ever know
The places we've been
I know your scars will still show
But at least you won't have to hide them
Anymore

If heaven looks like this
I'll see you in hell
Because heaven won't look right
If all you've got is the angels

If heaven looks like this
I'll see you in hell
Because your God just can't be right
When you love just like the devil

If heaven looks like this
I'll see you in hell
Because heaven won't feel right
If all you see is the angels

Oh, the places we'll go
They won't ever know
The places we've been
I know your scars will still show
But at least you won't have to hide them
Anymore
