On The Flip Side

OTFS sprouted from Montreal's exuberant music scene a mere couple years ago. With the recent release of an EP, a compilation of their best first songs, they're set their sights on entertaining whoever will listen and move with them. May it be in crowds, headset metro listeners, or breat-beat re-mixers their versatility is sure to impress. Ultimately, the Band is based on a simple motto: Soul.

The group's influences vary considerably, but it is their vision to revive and advance Soul, Funk and R&B through a Canadian/Quebecois discourse that propels their current ambitions. Their long-standing appreciation and continued commitment to song writing from this perspective has brought them together, their skills set on expressing the everyday narrative.

Kaila, Dominic and Jordano met while attending Vanier College's School of Music in Montreal. However, the group's bonds go farther back in time. Jordano and Peter have been composing and performing together since their early days in the High School band.

Once arm-chair lyricists and melody aficionado's, they took up full responsibility for their craft feeling it was part of something needing preservation, demanding meticulous attention. And so, they simmered the likes of Jamiroquai, Derek Trucks Band, Motown & the Funk Brothers, Bill Withers, and John Mayer in the same skillet.

On The Flip Side has always called Montreal, Canada home, but are actively pursuing to venture beyond the boundaries of their dear city in the not-to-distant future.
