Bio
On the Side creates and performs solid Rock-n-Roll that stays in your head long after you hear it. The band just recorded the enclosed 4 songs at Drexel’s Mad Dragon Studio using recording time they won in a battle of the bands contest run by the school and studio. The members have played live for years in various other bands.
Members include:
Neal Pomerantz on lead vocal and guitar (formerly of the Stand and Sauce on the Side)
Jon Mirsky on guitar (formerly of dead susan and Far From Even)
Matt Coulter on bass (formerly of dead susan and Far From Even)
Adam Pomerantz on drums (formerly of dead susan and Far From Even and Sauce on the Side)
Far From Even received critical acclaim in both radio and television with their self-titled full-length release. The CD went to radio in spring of 2002 and was #5 on the most added Loud Rock records in Album Network and CMJ and #6 at FMQB. It made its debut at #50 on FMQB’s chart, #40 on Album Networks Aggressive Rock Chart (moving up to #25) and #39 on CMJ’s Loud Rock Crucial Spins Chart (moving up to #29). The songs “It Burns”, “Can’t Communicate” and “Whistle Blower” were used extensively on MTV’s Real World and Road Rules and “It Burns” was used in its entirety on ESPN2’s Snowboarder TV. The track was also used in the extreme sport TV show SNOW ACADEMY which was sold to United Airlines for use on flights. The band was also featured in an audio profile on ASCAP.com.
The Stand had a successful run that included being named "Best Unsigned Band" by both East Coast Rocker & WMMR Radio.
The band set out to write songs that were more radio friendly and not quite as heavy as previous material. The combination of members from the different bands forged a creative blend of various styles that led to writing 10 new songs in about 2 months. The band is currently playing out and writing new material.
