What would it sound like if you went back in time and had Stevie Ray playing with the Led Zep rhythm section performing Allman Brothers covers. Well throw in some saxaphone and listen up, here it is. Strait out of the wilderness that is Northern Michigan; The On the Spot Blues Band.

Biography

The On the Spot Blues Band in its current form consists of; Steve Loukus on the Alto Saxophone and vocals, Trevor Mills on bass guitar, Joey Utzman on percussion, and John Snyder on lead guitar and lead vocals. The original band formed for a high school performance in the spring of 2007. At that time the band was a seven piece with a full horn section. Originally the band concentrated on more Chicago style blues, but now the music has moved to a more guitar driven Texas style. Along with playing all the local bars the band has made appearances in all the local arts and music festivals along with opening the fifth annual Marquette Area Blues Festival where they shared the bill with some nationally recognized blues acts like Watermelon Slim, Tab Benoit and Motor City Josh. It’s hard to balance College/High School and maintain the band but it happens and they still make it out for a few weekends every month. Every performance will for sure include everyone’s favorites; BB, SRV, a lot of Eric Clapton and many other covers as well as a few originals. Every tune in guaranteed to be served up with a youthful energy and an aggressive edge that only comes from Upper Michigan’s youngest bluesmen.
