"Electric Tundra"

Shying away from lyrics, On the Tundra’s high-energy sound is anything but ‘formulaic'
- Oregon Daily Emerald

"On The Tundra-Electric Walls"

"Electric Walls is kinetic and absolutely brimming with energy. Something about the melodies on the album, particularly the upbeat tracks, reminds me of ‘80s rock bands like The Cure. The instrumentation and song structures are certainly situated in a post-rock lineage, but the melodies and rhythms often seem more at home amongst their indie peers. Tracks like “Annabelle Lee” slow things down a bit, though it always feels as though the band is fighting to hold back its energy, and of course it isn’t long until the flood gates burst and it reaches for the grand climax. Even so, the group is versatile, and I look forward to hearing how it progresses down the road."

-Joseph Sannicandro - The Silent Ballet

Bio

Mark Leahey, formerly of The Sights from Detroit, MI founded On The Tundra along with Dave Kreibel, Nic Gusset, and Casey Izdepski. There is a revolving cast of other members who they play with at different times.

On the Tundra's first album was recorded in June of 2009. “Electric Walls,” got its name from the annoying rehearsal room walls that sometimes shock the band members.

Their influences range from Do Make Say Think, Mogwai, Godspeed, and Built to Spill.
