"Sonder On Review"

“Sonder On is a mature follow up from the bands first release, Old Soul, and features several
songs heard on the first album, only to see them return with a sense of clarity and

somewhatless lofi quality to them. Nevertheless, the heart and soul of the threepiece remains,
and can be heard poured into every whiskey drowned lyric and guitar twang.” - Journal Of Roots Music - No Depression

"Punk Rock Theory"

"One thing the bands I mentioned earlier have in common, is that they all fly their punky folk flag proudly and that is no different with Onward, etc. And something all the songs on “Sonder On” have in common is passion. Put together that makes folky passion. Or passionate folk. While the first is more likely to be reserved for a porn flick called “Humping In The Hay”, there’s plenty of the second to be found on here. Songs like “Crazy Horse”, “Dressed In Dandilions” and “Pass The Bottle” are upbeat, ridiculously catchy and just downright fun. But Onward etc. have no problem slowing things down for the beautiful and moving “Kings And Queens” and “The Steps Of Anna Rose”. And then there’s “Revolution”, a song that sounds like something Against Me somehow never got round to recording.

The rich instrumentation that includes everything from guitar, banjo, trumpet, violin, percussion helps every single song shine and the fact that these guys have a knack for writing catchy hooks doesn’t exactly hurt things either. Do yourself a favor… pick up “Sonder On” along with some beers and enjoy the hell out of it. Or better yet, go check them out live." - Punk Rock Theory

Bio

Aage Birch is the old soul that found a home in Rosco Wuestewald. And Aage Birch

will be the force behind new music that will drive a primitive rhythm.

Hailing from Yankton, South Dakota, Rosco hit the road at an early age spent years

performing under the moniker, Onward, etc.

After the self released album ‘Old Soul’ in 2013, the band signed with DC-Jam

Records in 2014. They went on to record at DOB Sounds with Derek O’Brien (Social

Distortion) and released the album ‘Sonder On’ in 2014 to critical acclaim and

gained them international attention. Rosco has been touring ever since,

globetrotting with his trusty axe and wailing into microphones that exude the scent

of whisky and beer.

The project led him around the world where he played many well known festivals

and venues like Coachella, Bonnaroo, twice on The Vans Warped Tour, twice on

Flogging Molly’s Salty Dog Cruise, Summerfest, FEST, Vail Rocks, SXSW Showcases, CMJ Music Fest and the Alaska State Fair, among others.

And along the way, he had the privilege of sharing the stage with some old heros and

new friends alike, including: Flogging Molly, Lucero, Murder By Death, Devotchka,

Aaron Gillespie, Dropkick Murphys, Skinny Lister, Frank Turner, Authority Zero,

Dave Hause and many other amazing artists.

It was only a matter of time before history and evolution collided. Now, ironically

moving “onward,” and resurrecting the namesake of his great grandfather, Aage

Birch, Rosco is honoring the inevitable evolution of this artistic journey. Aage Birch

is the next chapter in a book that continues to grow.

Raw, true, sad and honest, the upcoming work in his musical catalogue is the type of

songwriting that opens the soul up for examination and will reveal inner truths that

will cut to the core like glass on flesh.

He’ll be touring nationally and internationally in the months to come. So keep your

ear to the ground. Follow the sound of the beating heart and the battle cries of the

immortal inquisition. It will lead you to a place where old meets new, a place where

primal secrets will be shared, and age old truths will be revealed. It’s the place you

were meant to find all along. Welcome to the next chapter: Aage Birch.
