ABOUT US:

Bonnie and Kelsey have been writing and playing songs together since they were 15. One of their first influences was Dashboard Confessional
and they have since been compared as a "female Dashboard". While you may not pick it up in ther sound, the girls are also influenced by
their favorite punk bands such as Blink 182, Yellowcard & Name Taken.
The songwriting process is definitely a 50-50 proposition with both sharing ideas for lyrics, harmonies and guitar chords. One quickly
notices that the most unique part of their sound is the beautiful vocal harmonies. They have a passion for music, and love working with their producer, Mike Southworth at Creativ Studios in Vancouver.

REVIEWS:

"A recording as sophisticated, classy and hook-filled as 'Accidental'
comes along so infrequently, we almost want to go door-to-door to tell
people about it. This is a brilliant record, and all the more
astonishing when one considers that Opening Axe's core singer/
songwriters were just 16. Only regular airplay stands between
these two and stardom" MARK RHEAUME, CBC RADIO

"Opening Axe are 2 beautiful, talented ladies. It truly amazes me how
great their CD 'Accidental' is. I was absolutely floored when I
listened to it for the first time".CLIFFORD BOWDIN, NEW-MUSIC SHOWCASE

"All of the songs have a poetic prettiness that I believe many
songwriters envy. Their guitars are fabulous. Undeniably these are
two talented young women...this is a fantastic first effort:

Tragedy

Written By: Bonnie McGrew & Kelsey Ngai

TRAGEDY: by OPENING AXE

Can you tell me
That this Tragedy
Was meant to happen?
Some wrong decisions.
No more choices.
Time is over now.
Can't say "goodbye" to
Those who cared for you.

Can you tell me
That this Tragedy
Was meant to happen?
Some wrong decisions, and
No more choices.
Time is over now.
Can't say "goodbye"
To those who cared for you.

Things could change in one day;
One night.
And this is what we call life.

It is shocking
To think that this could have
Happened to someone
Closer to me... and
This Tragedy has consequences
That we will pay for
In the end of it.

Things could change in one day,
One night.
And this is what we call life.
Life.

Can you tell me
That this Tragedy
Was meant to happen?
Some wrong decisions.

DONE

by Bonnie McGrew & Kelsey Ngai

This letdown's sinkin' in now.
Never knew how much I liked you, 'til now.
I'm done with you.

Tear out my heart. It will make me feel better.
This whole thing's made me feel so much stronger.

What's your feeling on this?
Shrug my shoulders, made up my mind for now.
To let you go.

Tear out my heart. It will make me feel better.
This whole thing's made me feel so much stronger.

And I look at myself, and I wonder why.
It's not me.
This confusion's so, oh so, overwhelming.

This letdown's sinkin' in now.
Never knew how much I liked you, 'til now.
I'm done with you.

Can I tear out your heart?
It will make me feel better.
This whole thing's made me feel so much stronger.

DID YOU NOTICE

by Bonnie McGrew & Kelsey Ngai 2005

This angry voice won't leave my head;
These tears stream down, send me to bed.
You can't leave here, on this bad note.
Come grab your things, don't forget your coat.

Let's talk about things before you leave and walk out that door
And I'm sorry.
Did you notice...I cried a thousand tears tonight.
Let's think things through before you shatter the whole room
And I'm sorry.
Did you notice...I cried a thousand tears tonight.

I'm wondering if this is me.
Don't know if I want it to be.
You came back and appologized.
Thought by now you would realize.

Let's talk about things before you leave and walk out that door
And I'm sorry.
Did you notice...I cried a thousand tears tonight.
Let's think things through before you shatter the whole room
And I'm sorry.
Did you notice...I cried a thousand tears tonight.

Let's talk about things before you leave and walk out that door
And I'm sorry.
Let's think things through before you shatter the whole room
And I'm sorry.
Did you notice...I cried a thousand tears tonight.
Did you notice...I cried a thousand tears tonight.

You've Got Me Worried

Lyrics to You've Got Me Worried: Bonnie McGrew & Kelsey Ngai 2006:

The last two months must have been a dream.
Far too perfect to be reality.
Now it's all been taken from me.

I want that back.

I got this figured out
Between us now.
But you,
You've got me worried
But I can't change a thing at all.

The last two months were all a dream
Now its back to reality.
I ask my self, what's left for me?

I want that back.

I've got this figured out
Between us now.
But you,
You've got me worried.
But I can't change a thing at all.

I've got this figured out
Between us now.
But you,
You've Got me worried.

And I can't change a thing at all.

The time has come to say goodbye
My heart it breaks like waves tonight.
I hope to see you soon
The swell of tears surround my sight
I turn away + try to hide
How much I'll miss you
And I'm digging down
Asking myself so many questions
of perfections + ideals in my mind
Its funny how the way things go
I never thought I'd wish for cold
December's comin' soon
The time is so ahead of us
it"s hard to think that we'll keep up
I hope that we do
And I'm buried in this has to work out
I wanna make it happen so bad
This state of mind is all I have
The time has come to say goodbye
My heart breaks like waves tonight
And I hope to see you soon.
Its funny how the way things go
I never thought I'd wish for cold
December's comin' soon
The time is so ahead of us

All I Have

Written By: Bonnie McGrew + Kelsey Ngai

We walk the stairs, your hand held tight in mine
Heading toward the ocean down this dark path
We've all stumbled down before
The crashing waves are getting louder
And this rain won't settle

And then my feet sink down in sand
The reflections catch my eyes and pull me in

You leave me breathless even more
I'm shaking headin' for the door
You have done this to me once again
You leave me speechless being here too
Empty when I'm without you
This never went the way I planned

We take four steps then two steps further from
The tide that's rollin' in towards us
December almost makes me numb
The sparks of fire ease these butterflies tonight

And then my feet sink down in sand
The summer's midnight air we're breathin' in

You leave me breathless even more
I'm shaking headin' for the door
You have done this to me once again
You leave me speechless being here too
Empty when I'm without you
This never went the way I planned

And then my feet sink down in sand
The reflections catch my eyes and pull me in

You leave me breathless even more
I'm shaking headin' for the door
You have done this to me once again
You leave me speechless being here too
Empty when I'm without you
This never went the way I planned
But much better in the end

And I can't tell you

Get Ready

Written By: Bonnie McGrew + Kelsey Ngai

I feel sick to my stomach
I feel weak to my knees
I feel lost without you
I'll catch you
Get Ready
My hands are out for you
Through the struggle I have realized
I can do more than what meets the eyes
Turned us down for way too long
Turned us down for way too long
I'll catch you
Get Ready
My hands are out for you
I feel lost without you
I'll catch you
Get Ready

Meant For You

Written By: Bonnie McGrew + Kelsey Ngai

Thought we'd take this chance and shatter
All the many things that matter
We'll leave this place we call home for somethin' better
We'll share these memories forever.

Spread our wings lets fly away
No one can ruin this for you today
Let's take a chance on this big world
Lets have our last dance
Cause this was meant for you.

Remember your first kiss
I'll remember nights like this
I remember staring at the clock
anticipating when to leave
I scream my lungs out, just to say

Spread our wings lets fly away...

Truth Is

Written By: Bonnie McGrew and Kelsey Ngai

I've been waiting
Sittin' by this phone
But tonight I have realized
That I'm on my own

So Don't wait up for me
Cause I'm not comin home
Can you see the stars I see
Tonight I'm on my own

Truth is
I will never do better
Than you

This club marker's weakening
from the X's I have wrote
But the days on this calendar
Show me there's still hope

So breathe in so deeply
And exhale those cares away
Cause I wouldn;t change a thing
Or have it any other way

Truth is
I will never do better
Than you
