Operastrike

Operastrike was originally founded as an outlet for guitarist/songwriter Steve Sepanzyk to explore his various musical interests. In its earliest incarnation Steve acted as principal writer, arranger and producer of a wild amalgamation of surf, metal, r&b and country themed compositions. Drummer Shaun Maguire and bassist Stephen Perry of Vancouver's A Thousand Year Plan were brought in to perform on and facilitate the recording of Operastrike's self titled debut album on Hand Over Fist Records. An ill fated Big Trouble in Little China themed Operastrike/A Thousand Year Plan split was widely bragged of and subsequently put on hold. Songwriting sessions for aforementioned project brought Jordan Lawrie (also of A Thousand Year Plan) into the Operastrike fold and resulted in songs of a character that warranted another full time project. After briefly courting a variety of alternate names, the band decided not to mess up a good thing and settled on Operastrike as their decided moniker. Operastrike currently operates out of Vancouver, BC, writing and performing no frills, aggressive rock and roll which suits them just fine.
