The Usual Suspects

Good things take time. The building of Rome, the vinification of a fine wine and the making of a usual suspects album. Almost ten years after turning heads with their single Profile the cuddly duo are finally ready to drop their debut album (leave this) Hire Learning. The reasons for the decade long gestation period are numerous: education, marriage, travel, in short growing up. Because while Saia and Bishop may still live with their parents the preceding years has seen them become adults with the new album reflecting this with a maturity not seen on their early work. Their trade mark sense of humour and catchy beats remain intact but the music has developed beyond punch lines to include social commentary and a broader palette of ideas and experiences all of which come through in the album’s 12 tracks.
