TRANSFER - A CD presenting 4 songs "jazzified" - rearranged to our sauce.

*ORANGE KITCHEN is a musical encounter between jazz saxophonist Jean-Christophe Béney and singer Chrystelle Maechler, who created the band.

Chrystelle Maechler has an unusual profile. She did not grow up in a musical family and she also never took music classes as a child or a teenager. But yes it was her vocation hold back too long!
She started with a very different career quite far away from the musical world. However, everything should have indicated her that she had music in blood. Indeed, at the age where other children listened to Maria Carey, her first CDs were those of BB King and Ray Charles « Certain cousins or friends found me retro at 12 » she said, « but the brass solos and the blues melodies incredibly blew me away at that time already ».

Her passion for music was revealed to her much later and it is only since 2008 that she decided to try it for real.

But the love story with jazz and blues actually began on a beautiful autumn evening in 2001 in Stuttgart, Germany, during her first jazz performance at a jam session. After that she was immediately adopted by the German music scene. Because indeed, her timbre is special! Her innate blues voice has since developed and is marked by her travels, musical encounters (especially in Mississippi, Louisiana, Germany and Quebec) and by her various musical influences (blues, R& B, jazz, soul, funk, trip-hop).

She has an emotional approach to music!

« Thanks to music, we can create small moments of happiness. I only wish I could give a little something to my audience, a nice moment during which they can forget all their concern or stress! Reach this goal is the only thing that matters to me. »
She started her own project named TRANSFER since 2009 and recently became *ORANGE KITCHEN, under the musical direction of saxophonist Jean-Christophe Béney. Both musicians rearrange pop, soul and RnB songs and co-write original songs (none has been recorded yet).
Since the autumn of 2009, one of the rearranged song has been broadcasted on the radio station Planète Jazz 91.9.
