Orange Sky Was Formed 15 Years Ago ,,,2 Brothers From Trinidad And Tobago And A Few Pals Got Together To Jam And Have A Good Time ,,without Knowing That They Would Be The Most Heralded Caribbean Rock Band Of This Generation . Known For Their Original Style And Flavor Of Roots Rock , And Loved For Their Electrifying Live Performances They Quickly Carved A Name For Themselves Locally ,and Throughout The Caribbean With A Very Long List Of Singles Released And Heavily Rotated By Top Radio Stations In Trinidad /tobago And The Region
Lead Singer Nigel Rojas Says ” When We ( Brother Nicholas / Bass )were Growing Up We Had The Posters On Our Wall Of Dio, Judas Priest ,bob Marley , Iron Maiden, And A Whole Lot More ,,and I Guess ,we Got That Same Rock And Roll Power Just From Staring At Those Posters Everyday And Listening To Their Music ,”it Became Our Music …………..and Believe It Or Not, It Came Through ”
We Ended Up Having The Honor Of Opening For Many Bands That We Seriously Love And Always Stared At On The Wall Of Our Bedroom ….its A Trip!”
Throughout Their 15 Years Orange Sky Released A Few Albums Locally , But In 2005 Signed To A U S Label Out Of Los Angeles Called “granite Records Album “upstairs ” Was Released As A Soft Release And The Band Toured 44 Cities Across The States Opening For Yngwie Malmsteen And Adema Promoting Themselves . The Response Was Phenomenal And They Quickly Had A Few Thousand New Friends And Fans Across The States. They Parted Ways Shortly After That With The Label And Returned To Trinidad ,where They Wrote And Recorded Their Next Album ” Dat Iz Voodoo”. Star City Records Quickly Signed The Band In 2008 And Re-mixed And Re-packaged The Album And Released It Across The U S . The Band Then Did An 87 City Tour Acorss The States (2008/ 2009)leaving A Core Trail Of New Friends And Fans . The Label Could No Longer Fund The Band And The Mission…
So Once Again Orange Sky Severed Ties With The Label And Returned Home To Trinidad And Tobago Where They Went Straight Into The Studio And Recorded Their Last Album “dawn Of The Living Dread” (2010)…….the Album Was Released Locally Only And Received A Unanimous 2 Thumbs Up Across The Table !
The Band Still Performs In Trinidad To Packed Out Shows And Are Poised And Ready To Take On Whatever The Future Holds . In Nigel’s Words ” We’ve Made Some Special Friends Across The States And I Can’t Wait To Be Able To Get Out There Again To Continue Planting Seeds And Blowing Up In Every City ,every Night ,,,we Want To Play This Music Across The Globe Europe ,japan,australia ,africa You Know? ……
