Biography

Tomas Leiburas Orchestra was founded on 1 March 2007 by teaming up young and up-and-coming musicians with a solid experience. It is composed of graduates and undergraduate students of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and Vilnius College of Higher Education. Tomas Leiburas Orchestra cooperates with strings quartets “Four Strings“, “Čiurlionis Quartet“ and singer Česlovas Gabalis. Composer and pianist Tomas Leiburas is the Orchestra‘s leader whose compositions make up the Orchestra‘s repertoire.

It is difficult to describe the Orchestra‘s musical style. Tomas Leiburas Orchestra‘s repertoire features a full gamut of sounds from the light smooth jazz improvisations to the Brazilian bossa nova rhythm inviting you to dance, from pop to rock music, from soulful blues to rollicking funk beats. Such a wide variety of styles makes Tomas Leiburas Orchestra a universal and colourful ensemble which should attract young and older audiences alike.
