Over the past three years, six music fans from completely different bands and backgrounds have been working together to create rock music that cannot be shoveled into one of the countless categories of sub genres. This has culminated into what is now known as "Orestus." Anyone who hears their music is almost immediately grabbed, the fact that they all of it works so well together.
In the beginning they hobbled together pieces of equipment from pawnshops and other musician friends.
For a month or so they pounded out material and entered a radio-aired battle of the bands. Orestus gave a copy of their song "Jezibelle", to 99.9 "The Carp" which was hosting the event. After 3 weeks in a row of winning the weekly-aired competition, Orestus was the first to be retired to the "Hall of Fame". Shortly thereafter the band was notified that they were entered in another competition. The Leinie's Battle of the Bands was their next step and to be their first show together. Orestus pounded out song after song, and played their first show at this battle, eventually winning the competition and a slot at Milwaukee's Summerfest.
This band has since done everything on their own, from CD interactives, websites, merchandise, to producing their own EP albums in their basement studio. They have received sponsorships from "Miller Lite", "Camelot Guitars", "Miller Genuine Draft", and many local businesses.
Their fan base has become a dominant size in their area. They have played many festivals, and substantially sized shows. As of now they have settled into an undisclosed location outside of Eau Claire, WI. and are feverishly working on a full-length album and DVD, with plans for extensive touring.
