Organic! a Brooklyn-based trio, featuring guitar, Hammond organ, vintage keyboards, synth-bass and drums instinctively create new music every time they play. Organic! creates live improvised compositions as well as pre-written original songs. Each performance features spontaneous new music that is fresh but rooted in the tradition of 70’s instrumental funk and R&B. The music is accessible, deep groovin’, funky and fun. Together the band members speak an intuitive harmonic and melodic dialogue. Deep, greasy grooves provoke eclectic tempo shifts, dub-laden ambient sound scapes and sudden dynamic changes. Organic! has been developing this explosive musical synergy for over 10 years.
Guitarist and composer John Cabán has soaked up and saturated music scenes from New England to Europe, New Orleans to New York City. His unique playing has graced performances and/or recordings with such diverse artists as Art Neville, Bo Diddley, Kenny Kirkland, Alana Davis, KJ Denhert, Brother Love, Neycha, Italian superstar Gianna Nannini, Dispatch, Drum ’n’ Bass mavericks Boomish, and many others. With roots deep in rock, blues, funk, r&b, experimental, ambient and world music, a rich tonal palette, lyrical sensitivity and strong rhythmic feel combine to make his distinctive atmospheric guitar style a fixture on both the stage and studio in NYC and beyond… /
Keyboardist, composer and producer Bennett Paster is one of New York City's most creative and versatile musicians. He has performed original music at clubs, concerts and festivals in the United States, the Caribbean and Europe and has been a featured performer with jazz stars Cassandra Wilson, Kurt Elling, Billy Hart and Ndugu Chancler, among others. He is currently the musical director and keyboardist for Broadway and screen star Melissa Errico. In addition to co-leading Organic!, Bennett performs regularly with his Jazz-Latin band Grupo Yanqui and funky soul brothers Yes Virginia. /
Yuval Lion grew up in Tel Aviv, Israel and after playing with Israel’s top artists, moved to the US in 1997, where he has become one of the most sought after drummers in NYC. He has played and recorded with Joy Askew (Peter Gabriel, Joe Jackson), Warner Brothers recording artist Lizzie West, underground Electronica/trip-hop project Lure NYC, The Blam, Pink Noise, New York funk master Milo Z, and other more ethnic ensembles like the Moshav Band, Michael Cohen’s Henna Project and Pharaoh’s Daughter, just to name a few. In all of his projects he has the masterful flexibility to fuse his uncompromising grooves with an array of ancient Middle Eastern rhythms, hip-hop, funk and rock.
