“88 Bars” is the first single from Original Virtuoso’s “Quattro EP” which will be released later this year and two other projects are scheduled to release on two separate dates. This single, crafted by underground New York producer Young AK, is a telling of past life obstacles Original Virtuoso (OV) has overcome. He remains optimistic yet cynical knowing there are more hurdles to come as his career progresses.
OV is keeping your attention bar for bar in this hook-less song as he effortlessly spits on a beat featuring heavy bass and jazzy horns; very reminiscent of mid 2000’s hip-hop. His music is a breath of fresh air coming from Brooklyn compared to the hip-hop that’s currently being released. OV proves himself with his ability to keep that “Brooklyn sound” alive with complex lyrics, braggadocios style and smooth delivery all while keeping up with the current sound. - RESPECT MAG

Original Virtuoso is an underground rapper and songwriter straight out of Brooklyn, NY. His music captures the mistrials, fun and freedoms of his life. From a young age, he has been an avid listener and collector of hip-hop, jazz, rock and soul music. OV wrote his first rhymes at the age of 8 during the mid-2000s. Although filled with ambition and drive, the New York street life and family opposition stopped him from pursuing music as a career. It wasn’t until dropping out of college he discovered music was his life. The 23-year-old rebel has experienced a lot in the gritty streets of his hometown; like his musical inspiration Notorious B.I.G OV uses his music as a guiding force to remain inspired regardless of his situation. OV’s music ranges from topics like hood politics to drug dependency, racial discourses and death through witty lyrics and philosophical punchlines. OV is an artist the music industry is lacking, and he knows he still has room to grow.
