This three song EP, recorded in 2010 at seperate times captures the energy and skill embedded in Orikal Uno.

Enlisting the talents of Rhymesayers veteran Sab The Artist (Musab) the two go hard over the soulful and funky production provided by Ganzobean. Rhymesayers/Black Clover emcee Mac Lethal joins the fold to provide some heat to the track "Ammo." Last but certainly not least is the magnetizing track "Rev It Up" featuring up and comer Prof which you may have seen on tour with Atmosphere and Grieves.

The much anticipated album Then and Now was released last week, March 19 by Sota Rico (Maria Isa & Orikal Uno)
Collection of songs by Orikal Uno & Maria Isa spanning from Summer of 2008 to Spring of 2011.
Recorded by Orikal Uno. Mixed and mastered by Orikal Uno & Anonimust.
The last weekend of March symbolizes that Spring is finally here, with lots of events this weekend we’ll be chatting music and chillin’ to the sounds of Sota Rico. We know our Come And Take It readers enjoy their weekend with some music and website perusal as well! We have published some musicians from Minnesota, but we have barely scratched the surface. This week’s story is the Minneapolis/Saint Paul artists ORIKAL UNO & MARIA ISA; together they are Sota Rico. The local music scene will always have something new to research, but Orikal & Maria Isa have been making music for years where I am amongst the fans when they take the stage. - catiblog.com

Orikal Uno’s “Party Like It’s 2012? is ‘all about feeling good before it’s all over’.

Because surely you want to know more about the man behind that sentiment (& track) we’ve got the more on St. Paul’s Orikal Uno after the jump.

Having just celebrated his 21st birthday, Orikal Uno has already established himself as a fixture on the celebrated Twin Cities music scene, He is probably well liked
by your own favorite hip-hop artist, even if you’ve never heard of him. By 2011 that will probably change as Antonio Rosario a.k.a. Orikal Uno releases his debut LP
simply titled “Uno.”
The artist previously known simply as Orikal, has been a workaholic since first entering the game at the ripe age of 13. The native of the West Side of Saint Paul,
self released numerous albums and mixtapes and shared stages with some local heroes from the Rhymesayers and Doomtree crews as well as many other Twin Cities hip-hop
legends. Three years ago he tapped longtime collaborator Anonimust to produce a full length debut LP for him that would set the stage for this next chapter in his
career.
Anonimust, who was previously known as “Jayechs” has been a long time fixture of the Twin Cities music scene and songwriter for artists locally and nationally. He
gained his first exposure as a member of the groundbreaking hip-hop group S.U.S.P.E.C.T.S. and went on to continue a successful career producing songs for artists and
music for TV and movies. As a father of two young children, the former Jayechs changed his stage name to Anonimust in 2007 to reflect the change in his musical style
when he founded the group Hour to Hope, to personally work on positive music and no longer wrote songs that included profanity or the “n-word.” As a producer, he still
allows a “no-holds barred” experience for the artists he works with, and for Orikal Uno he provided a soundtrack unlike anything ever attempted for a hip-hop artist.
Together the collaboration of Orikal Uno and Anonimust two artists at the top of their game, and in a crossroads of life made for an LP worthy of cover-to-cover
listening, even in this world of song-by-song downloads in iTunes. Capturing three years of risk-taking and progressive songwriting, the album presents a fully-fledged
introduction to one of the most innovative artists to emerge from the Twin Cities. This album ranges from the synth-pop influenced lead single, “Party like it’s 2012”
which, to the blues-infused heartbreaker “You’re Sure Not Ready” all the way to the salsa-driven “Bacardi Island” featuring Maria Isa. Orikal Uno re-defines the
creative limits of underground hip-hop.

Bio

Orikal Uno (Antonio Rosario) is a hip hop artist based in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Orikal Uno was born Antonio Rosario in St. Paul, Minnesota on July 27th 1989. Discovering his love for music at an early age, Uno began taking violin lessons at the age of 6 and was turning out raps by the age of thirteen. Deeply rooted in graffiti and hip hop culture Uno was instantly recognized for his quick-witted freestyles and fresh sound. Since the earlier years of rhyming with friends, Uno has been working diligently to hone his craft. He has performed with many household names such as Sab The Artist, Prof, and Mac Lethal and has been a featured performer at First Avenue, Fine Line Music Cafe, Minnesota Music Cafe, and the Minnesota State Fair. Uno’s hard work has not gone unnoticed; he has scored multiple Twin Cities Hip Hop Award nominations and was recently connected with long-time collaborator and producer Anonimust to produce his debut album "Uno." This full-length recording offers an experience that bends the rules of traditional song writing with a delivery that is all his own. Featured vocal performances from Maria Isa, JL Magee and Anonimust help bring you an album that is a power house of clever thinking accompanied by tactical delivery. We are not the only ones to think that Uno is a music guru. To show that Uno had the support of his peers, he was able to successfully raise over $1500 via kickstarter.com to help fund the creation of the album proving that we…and the entire world… wants “Uno.”
