Orion Five

Orion 5 is from the future. Comprised of 5 young men from New York, their brand of cerebral psychedelic rock with indie/folk sensibilities creates a unique sonic landscape that transports their audience to the farthest stretches of the imagination. Hard at work on their first EP, they have played many shows in and around the New York area, including the legendary Bitter End, Glasslands, and Public Assembly. Despite having grown up together during their formative years, the members of Orion 5 nonetheless possess diverse musical backgrounds ranging from hip-hop, jazz, blues, metal and folk, informing their sound with a variety of flavors while simultaneously employing their close-knit family dynamic to provide cohesion and unity.

They are perhaps best known for their dramatic stage presence utilizing D.I.Y. special effects devices such as homemade strobe towers and a laser diffraction system. Plans for the future include an upcoming CD release party, saving the world, educating the young, and rekindling the space race; all while continuing to shape their dynamic sound for curious palates.
