Bio
Orisha Sound is a recording artist and actress based in Los Angeles US and Kingston Jamaica of Scandinavian, Slavic and Brazilian ancestry. Singer and multi-instrumentalist (she plays over 15 instruments) at nine years old, she was a child-prodigy virtuoso, touring in Europe and the United States. Since then she has appeared on stage and in studio with Stevie Wonder, Stanley Clarke, Anthony Hamilton, Devante Swing, Flo Rida, Snoop Lion, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Sizzla, Sly & Robbie, Beenie Man, Jae Deal and many others.
Her songs combine elements of reggae, electronic, dancehall, hip-hop and world music. Orisha Sound live show – is a mix of a great live music and true entertainment. She had performed in places like House of Blues, Hard Rock Café, Key Club, Viper Room, Kite Festival and many more. “I don't stay in one place - I move a lot - enjoying the beat of the streets, stages and studios all over the world”.
Orisha Sound first gained fame with her debut single “Beautiful Sin” released by InGrooves Fontana in 2012. After this international single was released, several major labels were trying to get Orisha Sound on their roster. In 2013 she had signed a deal with RBC records (Snoop Lion, DJ Quick, Ice Cube, Game) and released 15-track album “Cupid” on July 9 of that year. Album was produced by Billboard Platinum producer Andrew Lane and Jamaican producer Shel-K. Songs were written and co-written by Orisha Sound and recorded in Boom Boom Box and Brandon’s Way (Los Angeles), Mixing Lab and Tuff Gong (Kingston) and Melodia (Moscow). Two songs from the album – dancehall track “Embrace It” ft Sizzla Kalonji and one-drop “Sunshine Lady” ft Wayne Daniel went on the charts in several countries and reached number one in Jamaica. The videos for two singles – reggae version of the “Beautiful Sin” and sultry “Make Me Moan” were premiered on MTV network and getting rotation on different stations all over the world.
As an actress Orisha has appeared in American and International films such as “Friends Request”, “Holding Back”, “Relentless”, “Charlie’s Messengers” and “Titanium Man”. Since September 2013 she is starring in a “Project O” – a reality TV show, produced by Black and Yellow Entertainment for Punch TV Network, and based on her life.
Currently Orisha Sound is working on full-length pop reggae/dancehall album, which is set to be released in the beginning of 2014 with the first single – duet with the king of dancehall Beenie Man “World War Three” released on October 22 2013.
